Sorry about the job news Cheery and I echo a lot of the other comments. Everything happens for a reason although that's often not as easy to see in the moment.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!6

Bleh they clearly don't deserve you. You've put an enviable amount of effort into the process I'm so sorry this is the result.5

So sorry to hear this Cheery, and so frustrating with the work that went into it. In my experience roles got pulled because someone hadn't checked that they had enough funding up front, but there is no excuse for not telling you straightaway.Hope they at least gave you some feedback about why not.
here's hoping that you have better luck next time. In a 4 day week role etc.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Cheery - so sorry to hear about the job. That is just so disrespectful for an organisation to treat candidates like that; you put so much time and effort into your application and interview.

Well that's just pants Cheery! They obviously don't know a good candidate when they see one 😠
I'd say the universe has something better in mind for you - it'll come along at the right time.

That you all, you're very kind xxx
Oddly enough, the institution is advertising another role that I might go for (once I've finished sulking about this one 😂). Similar but different, and perhaps slightly better suited to me 🤔 Not in the same dept, but there may be some overlap on the panel... We'll see.
Their feedback said there were lots of positive comments, but that I was perhaps too focused on one particular niche, wasn't ambitious enough, and wasn't quite ready for a key leadership role 🙄 All fair comments 😂
When (if) I've got through the system with the new job, they have an email for feedback about their general application process, so they'll definitely be getting some... 🙄😂10 -
The phrase "dodged a bullet" comes to mind here.
