Ooh, is that OH's prolific earnings?? Well done!
I've got just under £4 pending which is a nice start. Going to make an effort to follow up survey emails and check more regularly this month.
Did a UGov one this morning, up to £40 now so not too long to go (although it'll probably take me all year). 1Poll is up to £10.85. Did a £4 one for YLive that screened me out after answering loads of questions about what I thought about the Premier League 😠 Very annoying.
Hey ho. Can't remember if I said but I signed up to someone's research - getting a £25 voucher for having some blood taken on Monday, in the same building I have a meeting in, so that was convenient! February's extra income is ticking up nicely.
I have slept pretty well so back in a sec with a list. No sign of Mr Cheery so I assume he still wasn't feeling well and has slept in the spare room 😕 We are off out for breakfast in a bit though - I need to draw a line under the last couple of weeks!6 -
So, a list for today.
MORNING
* gentle workout
* end of month budgeting
* out for breakfast, and to do some plotting and scheming
AFTERNOON
* Flylady home blessing
* 15 mins putting clothes away - both the bedroom and spare room (which also acts as a wardrobe extension) have suffered from recent rushing around 🙄
* 30 mins on home insurance - I'm going to need to properly measure that tree/distance from house for peace of mind. I've done it before, but obviously it's grown since then. Need to get my protractor out! Want to run through a comparison site too.
* Mr Cheery has a hospital appointment so there may be a small bit of activity related to that.
EVENING
* Going to friend's house for some flute playing and food eating 😊
Oh, and I suppose there's a chance I might hear about this job today. I keep forgetting that Friday might be the weekend for me, but it isn't technically the weekend yet 😂 Not holding my breath though 🙄
Oh, and I didn't win anything on the premium bonds 😠
Right, best get on I suppose!4 -
Morning Cheery - that's a lovely list to start the day! - Happy Friday & happy plotting & planning
I normally don't start until 9:15, but for some unknown reason my body decided to wake up just after 6, instead of accepting it's a work from home day and a lie in is perfectly acceptable 🤣🤣🤣
Have already had my first chat with the boss who is annoyingly the earliest of early birds! She couldn't believe I was online pre-coffee. How do I explain that my coffee maker was still under covers happily sleeping? He's woken up now and I'm enjoying my first cuppa & catching up in diaryland!
(...and yes, for some reason OH thinks it's amusing to transfer his monthly prolific earnings into my PayPal account instead of withdrawing to his current. I think it's his equivalent of bringing home a bunch of flowers! - TBH it's all the same in the end as we may have separate accounts, but all our spending & saving is divided equally!)4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!7 -

Thanks both 😊
Not getting much crossed off my list 🙄 Lazed around this morning so straight to the cafe. Nipped into town for a few errands, did a bit of plotting and scheming at home. Ended up coming to the hospital with Mr Cheery, although I'm now regretting that as he's only just gone in over 45 mins late, so I'm going to be late to my friend's house 🙄 They're usually pretty good at this hospital so we figured there wouldn't be much delay, but hey ho.
So today's list might have to be transferred to tomorrow, minus the cafe but with the addition of cleaning the entire house ready for Sunday visitors, and leaving at 3pm to drive to other friend's house to stay over.8 -
Morning MSE chums 😊
Yesterday turned into a lazy morning and a flurry of cleaning, but at least we have a clean and tidy house to go back to, and I got the spare room bedding washed too.
Then over to stay with some friends, who took us out for tea at a Hindu temple where they do monthly Gujarati Thali dining experience
https://bookings.oldhammandir.faith/
Goodness me, it was lovely. Lots of beautifully cooked fresh food, cooked by volunteers from the temple, and brought round a bit at a time, so the combination of things on your plate kept changing, but it was all delectable. I've been reading a bit about Sattvic foods this morning, and they're meant to be easily digestible, which will explain why, despite the food being unlimited, we came away feeling like we'd had plenty, but not too much, and not with indigestion 😂 It was £15 a head - our friends go most months, and we may end up joining them now and then. Bit of a hike for us, but it was definitely worth doing.
Late night though. Went to another friend's house for the evening after tea, and when we got back to where we were staying, Mr Cheery had accidentally locked a cat in our bedroom, and it had done a protest wee on our bed - right near his pillow 🙄😂 Hosts were mortified, we were mortified at having locked the cat in, cat was unrepentant 😂
I was, as usual, snoring too much and keeping Mr Cheery (very light sleeper) awake, so I decamped to the very comfortable sofa about 3.30am, and nobody else has appeared yet this morning.
Need to do something about my snoring. Losing weight will help I think, and I need to drink rather less tea. I was told many, many years ago that I have a mild milk intolerance. Not really noticeable, I just get rather gurgly if I drink too much milk, but I've been drinking a LOT of milky tea lately, sometimes 8 or 10 cups a day, which is far too many anyway, irrespective of the milk issue 🙄
I don't think my snoring is actually that bad, he refers to it as 'heavy breathing' 🙄 but he's such a light sleeper and I'm such a heavy one that the combination often ends up with me waking him, then him waking me, and both of us having a disturbed night 🙄 Not sustainable longer term.
Right, I think I can hear someone stirring upstairs...10 -
Ooh the thali dining experience sounds wonderful Cheery! Will have to investigate if there’s similar at a temple near us.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

DH and I had thali when we were in Goa a couple of years ago and we really enjoyed it. We had 2 different selections so had more than a dozen different things to taste along with the usual naan bread! Definitely something I'd love to have again at some point.5

I have heard that there are vocal exercises, humming I think, that can help strengthen the soft palette and so reduce snoring. Might be worth exploring?The food sounds amazing 😊
