redofromstart said:Much sympathy, I know decisions were slow when I was in that environment which is so frustrating. Months to shortlist and interview as you know, and then a committee decision that may require X people to be available. So frustrating.rtandon27 said:Cheery - it's not quite Candlemas yet - you can legitimately keep the tree up for a couple more days - LOL5

Hugs for your waiting. It's horrible trying not to yet your hopes up, but them getting up anyway. And I agree with @rtandon27, wait until 2nd Feb for your tree. That's what I'm doing with my wreath, and then I can pretend it was deliberate 🤣Live the good life where you have been planted.

😂😂 2nd Feb is only Friday, it certainly won't be coming down before then anyway! 😂
I'm simultaneously trying not to get my hopes up too much, and trying to imagine myself in my new job to send a positive image to the universe to manifest it as a reality 😂😂😂 Of course, neither of these things will affect the decision, but you've got to try 😂
Proud of myself tonight. Still tired, had a lovely long bath, got out and realised we've not done a food shop, so my normal food choices weren't available 🙄 Was actually disappointed at the possibility of having to buy lunch 🙄😂
Could go to the canteen (grim and expensive cheese sandwich) or M&S (nice salad, but not cheap and also a bit of a trek), but gave myself a talking to and have made a halloumi and lentil salad thing, and opened a 3 year out of date tin of peaches to contribute to a smoothie (the only fruit we had, other than gooseberries in the freezer 😂).
Very pleased that this felt like a better and easier option than buying lunch 😊
Got to celebrate the little things 😊13 -
January's prolific dosh has arrived (£12.01), along with £16.53 interest on a regular saver. This is £50 a month running over 2 years, so I'd not clocked I'd get an interest payment now - a nice surprise! 😊 So £28.54 to start off the Feb 'make £10 a day' challenge - nice!8

That's definitely a better option than the other options for lunch Cheery. Honestly - I'm impressed at people who managed to make suitable pack up lunches for work at all - MrEH does ours as I think you know, and it really must be said that there would probably be a lot of days I'd be going without if he didn't!
Good work on the prolific earnings cash out - must go and do mine!
Also - yes, the middle year interest on that Reg Saver is a nice little bonus isn't it - I always forget about it and then think "oh!" when it lands!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I was hit and miss for work lunches for years, probably spent a fortune even in the days when I could ill afford it 🙄
I think two things have helped me properly kick the habit. One is moving into a different building 😂 i now have to go outside and into a different building to get to the work cafe, and given that it is pretty much always rubbish, it doesn't seem appealing. When it was in the same building it seemed like an acceptable option (not all the time, but relatively frequently).
The other thing is the Joe Wicks app - I've not stuck to it religiously, but I do feel noticeably better when I eat food from there. It makes me WANT to make my own dinner, rather than buying something from the cafe. I know I'll feel full all afternoon if I do that.
Anyway, NOT having the world's most productive day here 🙄 After working through two weekends trying to prepare for interview I ache, haven't had a proper rest, and am SICK of sitting at a desk. Also drive to work and back four days in a row now. Need to spend the weekend pottering about, doing some yoga, and some exercise etc.
Still, just under three hours til Mr Cheery comes to collect me, so I suppose I'd best make the most of it 🙄
Definitely in need of a 10 minute timer and someone standing over me with a large stick this afternoon 🙄9 -

I have achieved most of the essential things now, thank goodness, and am cursing myself as I'm just getting into the swing and only have 45 mins left 😂 Ah well. Lessons could be learned, but past experience suggests they probably won't 🙄😂8
