Thank you all ๐๐
I did indeed sleep much better last night ๐
Although I'm already spending lots of today thinking of better answers to questions, better examples, things I neglected to mention at all... ๐ Certainly got a list of things I'd do differently next time!ย
But all that is rather pointless (probably won't stop me though ๐). Only thing I can do now is get on with my day and keep my phone close by. Deep breaths!8 -
Thinking of better things to say after the event is just human nature Cheery - I'm sure you wowed them with what you *did* say anyway.
I wanted to thank you for your comment the other day about thinking about a workout as a treat - I'm not there yet in terms of it being a habit, but it certainly has spurred me to do a couple in the last couple of days and I'm hoping it might stick. Especially given how easy it is to access good workouts on YT/TV these days -ย I can't complain that I don't have time!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! ยฃ132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I'm not there yet either ๐ but it's definitely something I'm trying to cultivate too! And yes, there are some cheerful and very easily accessible workouts out there. I always feel better when I've done one!
Still tired today. I've done what I needed to, but not exactly been a powerhouse of activity. Early night tonight again, I think.ย
Just spotted that the next bank switch that I was planning to do for both of us ends at lunchtime tomorrow ๐ So I'm going to have to do that tonight if it's going to get done at all. How tiresome! But worth it for another ยฃ250 I think ๐ Think I missed one that Mr Cheery could have done with the co-op too, very annoying but can't be helped now.
Had to swap cars this morning because the windscreen wiper blade had come loose ๐ Annoyingly, I bought a new one a while back, but couldn't find it in either car. Just ordered some fancy new ones which should be delivered tomorrow - obviously didn't have that car with me to get any fitted today, and haven't got time tomorrow, and can't see anywhere that sells them close to home so delivery it is!6 -

I find after a big event that I have geared myself up for it always takes me a few days to get back onto an even keel. Lots of rest and self care and you'll be feeling yourself again in no time ๐Live the good life where you have been planted.

Thank you all. Hoping to feel more lively tomorrow!
Right! I *think* all switch paperwork has been filled in.ย
* Went through TCB to open my new account.ย
* completed switch forms, due 9th Feb
* realised Mr Cheery didn't have a TCB account so referred him ๐
* opened his new account
* requested his switch
If all goes to plan we should get...
ยฃ250 for 2 bank switches
ยฃ40 for two lots of cashback
ยฃ25 for me referring him to TCB
ยฃ10 for him opening new TCB account
= ยฃ325
Switch requires spending once on card, setting up 2 DDs, and logging into Internet banking by 15th March.
On top of that, cashback requires paying in ยฃ500 each month, keeping the account open for 120 days, and using debit card twice each month ๐
There's an extra ยฃ60 each on offer but that involves spending 20 times on each debit card every month for the next 6 months so it's likely i won't be doing that, but maybe ask me another day... ๐๐
Anyway, done all I can for tonight. Mr cheery has also completed his tax return, so we are settling down for a congratulatory drink ๐
There's a mouse in the recycling messing about, but it has a temporary reprieve for tonight ๐๐11 -
Evening MSE chums.
No news yet ๐ I confess I am NOT waiting patiently AT ALL ๐๐ Still, the time is ticking by however much I'm complaining so there we are.
Tired again today. Still not caught up, and then had a disturbed night last night ๐ Mr Cheery has volunteered to sleep in the spare room tonight to let me get a good kip - I am an extremely heavy sleeper, but he isn't, and I wake him up by snoring, and then he feels compelled to wake me up to tell me about it, and we go round in circles ๐ So I need a night on my own to catch up with myself!ย
Nothing much to report. I did end up both paying for parking, and buying tea and a bit of flapjack at work today ๐ Not worried about the tea, I did have breakfast with me, but for tedious reasons I ended up having to go straight into a meeting where surreptitiousluly eating a bit of flapjack was possible, but slurping a bowl of porridge wasn't ๐
I do need to get a handle on parking though. Does my head in that there are plenty of empty spaces on site, but I can't use them because people have booked permits but aren't using them ๐ Permits are released around 8am, about 10 days in advance, so it's a bit of a nuisance, but I NEED to get into the habit of setting an alarm. And if I don't have one, I need to get back into the habit of parking further away and walking in - the exercise will do me good anyway.ย
End of the month today. Not checked banks etc, and not going to tonight either. Mr Cheery has run me a bath, and I fully intend to just go straight to bed after that ๐ย

Oh, and delighted to report Mr Cheery has copied all his stuff off my laptop, so I should FINALLY be able to have it back tomorrow ๐๐ Utterly thrilled about this ๐
He's also fitted the new windscreen wipers which arrived today, so that's a job that doesn't have to be done at the weekend.
Jobs for the weekend are stacking up though... At the minute it's looking like quite a busy one.
Friday - going to a relatively local friend's house for some musical activities and tea in the afternoon
Saturday - leaving about 3 to see some other friends, out for a meal, and staying over
Sunday - home late morning, some other friends are popping in on their way home from holiday early afternoon, then I have band practice.
In amongst all that, there's a vague list of things that have popped up and I've ignored
* house insurance (due 8th - renewal was ยฃ600 ๐ฑ but I've had a comparison email with a price of ยฃ315 so should be able to reduce a bit)
* car insuranceย (not due til 17th so maybe wait til next weekend)
* Mr Cheery's had a new debit card - looks like the old one was linked to mobile account so needs updating
* check and put in diary all the details of the switches I did yesterday and what needs doing when
* banks and end of month shuffling and checking
Oh, and might get round to taking the Christmas tree down ๐
Other than that, I'll be trying to recuperate from this week I think!ย6 -
Much sympathy, I know decisions were slow when I was in that environment which is so frustrating. Months to shortlist and interview as you know, and then a committee decision that may require X people to be available. So frustrating.ยMy mortgage free diary:ย https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
