I actually go to the barber fairly regularly. What I describe as an "old man barber" moved in to a unit near my inlaws about 5 years ago and I've been a customer since. The haircuts are pretty average but it's about £15 including tip and stops me looking like a caveman.

It's ludicrously easily done at this time of year though - trying to keep track of the days when there is so much going on always feels like a right challenge! That's some nice plans you have though - albeit quite a lot of them!
I'm with you on haircuts too - I don't like being fiddled with for a start, and I can't be doing with small talk, particularly not when there is lots of background noise with dryers going etc so I can't even easily hear it, so I avoid them like the plague!
I'd love to find a hairdresser I was happy with, but it does seem like a bit of a mission!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I am beginning to hate hairdressers. I used to go every 5 weeks as I have very short hair & a colour. Then my hairdresser decided to pack in & go to work for her husband. A very sensible decision for them but ---. I managed through her 2 maternity leaves with only very minor problems but her replacements this time, they don't seem to have a clue. Last time I went I had the woman in the next seat in tuts laughing when I said do you mind if I well sort this & ran my fingers through my hair to make it even half like I wanted it. I am really not fussy but sometimes I feel like I don't speak English or am in a foreign land.

Sorry to hear that badmemory!
I actually had a nice time at the hairdressers! And I did indeed thank her for not telling me off when I said I'd cut it myself - she confessed she sometimes did too 😂 she's done a decent job, and it was actually the first time I've felt comfortable in a salon and had a pleasant experience 😊
I'm afraid I did come back and do some more work, and have just finished 🙄 But I think I'm going to ring the endodontist and try to book the appointment this coming Monday that they offered but I turned down as I have a meeting - decided on reflection it's more important to sort out my face 🙄 I haven't been able to eat on that side of my mouth for about 6 months, and the longer I leave it still with an infection in, the more likely they won't be able to fix it 🙄 Might not still be available but I'll try.
Mr Cheery Snr is rather poorly again, and his dog is on his last legs too by the sounds of things 🙄 We'll head over there over the weekend to see if there's anything we can do for either of them.
Right now though, tea, and I'm afraid I plan to ignore most of my list, with one thing and another it's been quite a trying day!10 -

I've been going to my hairdresser for about 15 years. When I first went she seemed to pick up on the fact I am rather shy and didn't want to make idle chit chat and just cut my hair. Took about a year for me to feel comfortable and instigate chatting.Mortgage Free November 2018

We chatted, but not about me, which was nice! I have no interest in explaining my job or talking about holidays but this was more of a general chat about Christmas shopping etc.
So, a list for today! Mr Cheery is out this evening, and may go and see his dad today before that, so I may have the whole day to myself. That's what I'm planning for, with the full awareness that it may get derailed...
So.
MORNING: PLOTTING AND SCHEMING
* try to rearrange endodontist
* compost out
* check LPG tank gauge and update online
* cafe breakfast
* meal plan
* check where I'm up to with Christmas presents
* text friend - she offered us dinner but has double booked and we can't do new date
AFTERNOON: BUYING AND DOING
* buy as many remaining presents as possible
* food shopping
* wash spare room bedding
* flylady tidy round podcast
* hang bedding up
EVENING: POTTERING AND HANGING OUT
* batch cooking for weekend
* possibly get Christmas stuff out of loft (but I might wait til Mr Cheery is here rather than just dropping it out of the loft hatch 😂)
* check banks
* write out steps for next switch (but not doing anything til it's daylight)
* flute practice
That'll do i think!
Of course, may get derailed if I end up on parental mercy mission too - that will wipe out my whole day AND evening as I'll have to wait around for Mr Cheery to finish evening engagements. But hopefully that won't be necessary!8
