Sounds like a productive morning TDQ!
Glad I'm not the only one confusing opticians TMV 😂😂 Fortunately the one I'd actually booked was only round the corner within the same precinct - which is why I hadn't clocked when I looked at the address 😂
All done, and my vision is better than 20/20 😂 I confess I hadn't realised that was a thing 😂 so I have just spent an informative 10 minutes reading about what 20/20 vision actually is, which I feel like I should have known, but didn't 😂
Recommended eye drops as I do get very dry eyes, and instructions to look away from the computer occasionally... 👀 But otherwise all good and back in 2 years 😊 Trying to keep up to date with all health etc checks as I'm getting a bit older.
Needless to say, the list is not progressing very quickly. Eye test, yes, and cafe breakfast, but nothing else 😂 Now I fully intend to sit here drinking my tea and reading my accidental subscription of Country Living magazine before reassessing the list... 😂6 -
Right, list for the next couple of hours 🙄
* put some washing on
* quick flylady home blessing
* go into the loft to get fabric for Mr Cheery's next hat 😁
* might as well bring the Christmas tree down while we're up there
* hang washing up
* flute practice
* pack a few things for tonight
* get changed
That's plenty for 2 hours. Need to get a move on!6 -
Think you should add "Cancel the accidental subscription" to Country Life to that list!!!4

Gah, today is NOT going to plan at all!! Just got up to get started when Mr Cheery decided he needed a nap! So no flute practice, no washing machine, no hoovering, no washing up (kitchen is under the bedroom).
Instead I had another cuppa, did a long prolific study for £6 (got £8.47 cleared now) and checked banks/YNAB.
And NOW I need to get off my backside and try to do SOMETHING before we leave in an hour 🙄😂5 -

Morning MSE chums 😊
Gosh it's a busy weekend! Cheerful, but busy. Friday night's gig was lovely - I may be becoming a punk convert 😂😂
Stayed over with friends - they'd made two excellent pies, one cheese and onion, one chestnut and mushroom, and while I wouldn't usually have chosen to eat my tea at midnight they were most delicious!
Had a nice lazy breakfast, got home about 2.30, and back out again at 3.30 to meet a friend I used to live with, and her friend, in the foyer of the hotel they were staying in. We sat under the giant Christmas tree with a cuppa and did some crafting for a couple of hours, then went out for tea. Very jolly, and also quite MSE for me as she paid for dinner 😮
Randomly bumped into another friend in the hotel while I was there too 😂
Drive home was quite wild though 😮 VERY windy, and a LOT of water on the road. I didn't have to turn round this time but even sticking to the big roads there were some hefty puddles and a lot of bits of tree to negotiate. Both Mr Cheery and I have long journeys today so we'll be having to take things nice and steady.
Mr Cheery is off to visit his dad, who has been quite poorly this week, and so there may be a trip to the walk in centre 🙄
I have a happier trip - a pub lunch with a friend I've not seen since May 😊 and then back for wind orchestra practice.
I can hear there's no wind this morning, thankfully. We have quite a few trees and I always fret about them coming down. There's only one I think would do any real damage if it did - we talked last night about getting it lopped soon. It's pretty close to the house and I think I'd be tempted to lose it altogether rather than just lopping, but I suspect Mr Cheery may have other feelings so we'll see. Definitely needs something though.
Right. I need to leave in 2 hours to give myself plenty of time, so before then I want to...
* workout
* breakfast
* hoover - slight incident with the shower yesterday means a patch on the floor git very wet - after soaking up with towels i stuck the dehumidifier in there and liberally sprinkled bicarb for a final soak up - but that's now being trod around trod around the house like Santa's footprints 😂
* flute practice- concert is next week, getting desperate now 😂
* sit with a cuppa and order some Christmas presents. Really don't want to leave myself dashing round shops at the last minute or paying express postage fees, and my social calendar is filling up!
Best get out of bed i suppose 🙄7 -
Gosh, well today didn't go quite as planned either!
Did a workout, hoovered the floor, but didn't charge phone, so when I left it had about 45% battery - not an issue as I'd retrieved the charger from the other car.
Except my phone has a VERY intermittent fault where it thinks there's water in the charging port, and won't charge 🙄 I tried turning it off and on again, and it showed 36% battery. Managed to text friend to say I was having issues, figured I'd just do satnav for final but - but then it instantly drained to 0% 😱 No friend's phone number, no satnav, no directions to pub 🙄
I HAD looked at the route in advance, so I got as close as I could, then had to take a wild guess driving through a town. Fortunately it was a sensible guess. Stopped at a petrol station to try and buy a road atlas - obviously they didn't sell them 🙄 but the nice woman. Showed me the route on her phone - I was 5 mins round the corner 😂
so we had a lovely and very filling lunch, and a nice, if rather muddy, amble along a footpath, and I managed to remember Mr Cheery's phone number and let him know I was having phone issues.
Found my back to band practice - last one before our festive performance - and now home. Thankfully I found a faster charger, restarted the phone in safe mode, and managed the charge the pesky thing up.
It had a spate of doing this a while back, but it hasn't done it for months. What a nuisance!
Anyway, all sorted now. Mr Cheery is still an hour away apparently, but I'm fit for nowt except curling up on the sofa. Working at home tomorrow thankfully!6 -
Oh, and not a super cheap day. I bought friend's lunch too (we shared pudding) so £44 spent including drinks - least I could do as I was over an hour late 😱 A different friend paid for my dinner last night so I've told this one to pay it forward.
Also spent £3.50 on a car phone charger 🙄 Pointless I knew that probably wasn't the problem, but it does mean we have one for each car now at least.7
