Excellent news on the interview and ππππ to the new head of department being you! Thatβs the kind of thing Iβd do β¦ ππ
Sympathies about the teeth. I have similar genetics and it gets pretty depressing. Mr KK hasnβt been to a dentist for 40+ years and doesnβt have any issues at all!! π G1t! ππ
I understand that it also relates to how much saliva you produce - people who naturally produce more have better teeth as it naturally washes away the bacteria, that was reinforced by an osteo-archaeologist talking on a βmeet the ancestorsβ type programme who mentioned this fact too.ΒKKAs at 15.07.25:
- When bought house Β£315,995 mortgage debt and end date at start = October 2039 - now Β£233,521
- OPs to mortgage = Β£11,338 Interest saved Β£5225 to date
Fixed rate 3.85% ends January 2030
Read 40 books of target 52 in 2025, as @ 29th July

Fantastic news on the interview, cheery. Best of luck with it, you got this!! xMortgage Balance as of July 2025 Β£14,900.
Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) Β£72,000.
Aiming to be mortgage free by my 40th birthday, June 2026!5 -
A dentist once told me that if you have a fever whilst very young it can damage your second teeth.Β Not sure how true that is though as I used to get some interestingly weird chat up lines back then.

Congratulations on the interview Cheery. Β Just a quick one on teeth as iβve just had an abscess and have today been given my βoptionsβ Β The dentist has said I could do nothing but the infection would eventually happen again so for me thatβs not an option as the abscess is not something I want to repeat. Β He doesnβt do implants (so wasnβt doing a up-selling job) but said he could give me the name of a local private dentist and it would be around Β£3k for the single tooth (back molar) hence me deciding to go for option 3 - extraction (hopefully in January) Hope you can get the best, least painful solution (financially and toothily) - dentists are a bit of a rare breed it seems. Congrats on getting an interview, hope you can find an acceptable solution to the teeth issue7

Thank you all xxx
Well, my day started grim but got better π Interview news is good, of course, and the gig this evening was utterly charming, far better than I was expecting, very atmospheric and festive ππΒ
Drive home was tiresome, very foggy, and I went a different way to Mr Cheery and encountered a massive flood, including a poor guy whose van had conked out 4 hours ago π± I didn't offer to help, to my great embarrassment - but there were two massive trucks there with lots of orange flashing lights, so I think in my head they were rescuing him, but in reality I think they were the water board π There were several guys there with the trucks though, so he wasn't on his own, and I'd just come round a fairly tight corner, and was concerned to go either forward or back before someone else came round it too!
They did assure me I'd be fine going through it if I kept left, and plenty of other people had done so... but I chose not to risk it - it was easy enough to turn round and take a different route. It would probably have been fine, but my car is small and old and doesn't need any encouragement to break down quite frankly!Β
Both home safe, and I even made the effort to take the recycling up to the top of the drive π4 -
Anyway, the weekend is getting increasingly busy!Β
Friday - opticians, Mr Cheery has a gig in the evening and we're staying over with friends
Saturday - breakfast with friends, and I need to arrange to meet another friend in the afternoon
Sunday - arranged to meet a friend, but when I got home I realised I already have last weekends rescheduled pub lunch, so I'll need to rearrange the second friend to Saturday π Then band practice in eve.
So a list for tomorrow!Β
* rearrange friend
* workout
* cafe breakfast to start plotting interview preparation strategies - I might have over 7 weeks to prepare, but I will be doing a LOT of preparation!Β
* meal plan
* eye test at 11.30
* supermarketΒ
* flute practice
* washing
* hang washing up
* pack stuff for overnight stay
* will need to leave about 4.30
I don't think I'm going to be any more ambitious than that π5 -
CongratulationsΒ on the interview Cheery!!!!
