It is not a feast /famine thing for me - we always had all sweets, biscuits etc in the house as we grew up alongside 3 course HM cooked meals - hence me baking hams and roasting chickens, making soups for myselfI eat better than most the people i know especially now I add half a plate of dark greens to each meal -
I dont ever go on diets, i train plus my GF allergy probably keeps me in check
Haribo and I though .. there is no one sweet . there are always a handful . and so bad for my teeth and they are UPF's so I am instead looking to not buy them.
I will have the crisps and the sweets as a chaser .. think its the sugar in them...but i guess sweets are quick source of energy when I cant eat the cakes and biscuits others can - I bake but not much...
I will go to ALdi and see if monster qualities of PB will survive in my home more than a dayPB DF GF cookies are first on the list
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Finally some success on the Happy wheel tonight, but only by accident - I wasn't paying attention when I tried to use some free spins and accidentally did a £2 spin 😱 Normally that leads to losing £2 but tonight I hit a bonus round and won £70 😁 Very unusual, and I certainly won't be repeating. Anyway, £66 up overall today, which brings December's total to, er, minus £3 🙄😂
Still, looks much better than it did this morning! 😂
Tea made, and dinner for tomorrow packed. Birthday present wrapped for friend's daughter who I'm seeing tomorrow.
1P up to £5.50 so just about ahead of my ongoing target for the month! 😂
Busy tomorrow, and it may require paying for parking, otherwise I'll have to trek between places for half the day 🙄😂7 -
I looked in to both Agile and Tracker for us as well - but realistically we both agreed we wanted a year in the house first to see how our use panned out before we committed to anything. I love the idea of it, and we could at least to an extent manage the load shifting that would have been needed on Agile, but at this time of year certainly we are now learning that there would be certain things we just couldn't avoid some high use in that period - notably MrEH's need for heating on in the office while he's in there.
You've reminded me that I need to check 1P as well - I got it up to date yesterday!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Yes, I don't think we'd want to be doing too much messing around. I usually get up much earlier than Mr Cheery and he goes to bed later than me, and I often work at home, and while I'm willing to mess about for occasional savings sessions, I wouldn't want it to be too regular.
Speaking of savings sessions, can you tell where yesterday's was? 😂And in money terms...
😂😂
We didn't turn off fridge, freezer or Internet, but I think we managed everything else, so hopefully we'll have saved something! 😂
Bitty day today. Couldn't unlock the car door at 7am 🙄 The remote locking button broke ages ago, and the lock was clearly frozen. Didnt want to force it, we only have one key 🙄 Ended up breaking in through the boot - the back of the car was slightly more sheltered 😂
Took me a while so I got stuck in the traffic. Breakfast with a friend, work, including a session I'd arranged that only the speakers came to 🙄😂 We had a nice time, but still. Then an event at another organisation, with a wine reception (or in my case, orange juice reception), and then more traffic on the way home. I was going to do more work when I got home but now I'm here and it's already 6.30, I'm not.
Instead, here's a list...
* workout
* defrost some tea
* 15 mins declutter
* flute practice
* sort out clothes etc for tomorrow (dentist first thing, gig in the evening, so it's going to be a very long day)
* curl up on the sofa - need to leave before 7am tomorrow so I want plenty of sleep!
Came home to a flurry of post. It seems the latest bank switch is going through, as we have letters from both old and new banks, so we need to just sit tight and wait for the rewards! 😃6 -
We used to have to put Vaseline on the Defender door seals or they froze shut.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I do usually lock it - partly for that very reason 😂😂 Seems like it was pointless anyway, it sounds like it's raining out there 🙄4

Made it to the dentist in time for my 8.45 appointment 😊 always a risk with the traffic at this time of day, but I even had time to pop into the supermarket first.
Picked up a pot of hyacinths reduced to £2.70 (the pot is nice and reusable too), and spotted they had £17 Y@nk33 candles on 3 for 2, making them about £11 each, so I snapped up 3 for Christmas presents 😊 will update my list, and might well end up going back for another 3 for other people!
Not really a money saving day today. Dentist will likely cost something, obviously been spending the Christmas presents budget (saved for through the year though). We're going to a friend's gig tonight (tickets already bought) and were going to travel in together, but Mr Cheery didn't sleep well and didn't want to come with me, so he'll be coming later in a separate car 🙄6
