We buy Aldi tubs of 100% crunchy peanut butter, no salt/oil, for £3.99. On its own, I actually prefer some with a bit of salt in, but this is easily available, and I mostly use it in smoothies/cooking rather than on toast these days anyway. We've usually got a couple of tubs in the pantry, so I agree that 'must eat it all!' thing never really kicks in 😂 Not saying I don't have the occasional slice of unnecessary toast with peanut butter and honey, mind you... 👀
Love the idea of peanut butter arriving in paint tins 😂 I do often use the Aldi 1kg containers when I'm painting, but I suspect that's not quite what you mean!4 -
De-lurking just to say I love your mention of mixed PB and honey. I hope that's what you meant. Whilst I can't stand PB I DO love a slice of toast with either Marmite and honey, or Marmite and marmalade. Will now retreat back into my hole......!#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3662

Yes, I did mean mixed PB and honey (well, PB on toast with honey spread on top, I don't mix in advance).
Never tried honey with marmite though, or marmite with marmalade! I LOVE marmite, but never mixed it with anything sweet... Must investigate... 😁
Today's been a bit of a mix. Been in a right funk over work lately, just after a few weeks of disruption and feeling like I have noidea what's going on. Mr Cheery tried his best to drag me out, but eventually suggested I ring a pal who is an old colleague - and it was exactly the right suggestion 😊 She proper sorted me out, and I think I did more work in the final 2 hours than I trawled through in the whole of last week 😂 (Slight exaggeration, if the boss is reading 😂 but still, felt like I've turned a corner).
So I'm feeling more positive now 😊 Expanded yesterday's curry (which I'd made SO spicy it was almost inedible 🙄) into something extremely tasty, so have no demolished most of that, and am about to get in a nice hot bath 😊
Checked Prolific, nothing doing 🙄 Did a few 1P surveys though, up to £4.65 now. Aiming for payout before the end of the year!4 -
That sounds brilliantly odd @JGB1955. I used to really like marmalade and cheese sandwiches. I buy the unsweetened PB which is expensive and laggy so it sits in the cupboard for months.

Thanks Redo, me too! 😊 Not holding my breath 😂
Mr Cheery headed off early to drop the ECG machine back at the hospital, didn't go with him today, and also didn't get out if bed as planned 🙄
So I need a plan, before the day dissolves!
THIS MORNING
* ring mum to say happy birthday
* breakfast
* work!
AFTERNOON
* both of us have docs appointments this afternoon
* lunch from freezer I think
EVENING
* flute practice
* make tea, including spares for dinner tomorrow
* 15 mins decluttering
* order at least one Christmas present!
Just checked and my extra 75 nectar points for using the voucher yesterday have been added to the app, which is good. £13.97 to spend now, so that might be a little Christmas treat for us. I'll apparently get an extra 500 points when I hit 200 (in November I think, part of their Christmas offers) - but since they don't seem to be counting bonus one, only ones that actually accumulate from my shopping, I likely won't make it - I only have 18 out if 200 😂
Got a few more vouchers so will have to make sure I remember to use them...6 -
We buy the 1kg tubs of Aldi crunchy peanut butter, like others I like a bit of salt with my peanut butter, so once I have spread it on the bread or wrap I add a grind of salt. Most days I have PB in my porridge without salt. I like being able to choose when I have salt with my PB.
When they were younger my eldest used to enjoy toast with marmite on one side and honey on the other - one on the top and one on the bottom 🤣 I used to get in a right mess making it.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

I can verify that in my view a sandwich of cheese, marmite and peanut butter is pretty much food of the gods. MrEH meanwhile once did marmite and marmalade on the same slice of toast by accident and proclaimed it tasty enough that he now combines the two deliberately from time to time!
BB - as someone who has "issues" around sticky food transferring itself to hands, that toast option is making me feel quite anxious! Not one for my house!
Well done on working through your work related funk Cheery - sometimes you need to talk to someone who can help you to see the wood through the trees don't you!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

That is certainly helpful EH, yes! Committing to action today too, taking active steps to start a new project off. It's been giving me nightmares for the last few weeks just thinking about it, but now it's actually starting, and I'm writing things down and DOING things, it feels better. Always the way!
Chimney sweep been and gone, with no remaining mess. £80 well spent, and I was able to locate the carbon monoxide alarm when he asked (er, in a box on a shelf, never opened 🙈 In my defence I don't think we've used the fire since we bought it!) Anyway, it's up in the right place now.
Done another 1P survey, going to try and keep my number of pounds at the same level of days to try to get to payout by Christmas 😂AmStanding at £4.80 on the 5th so not too bad - I realise it might not be realistic but I will at least try!5
