Thank you all xxx
Well, what a palaver of a day that has been! Nurse rang an ambulance, and after much faffing and fiasco that I won't bore you with, they've kept him in overnight 🙄
He was pretty sanguine when I left, they'd set him up in a nice cool side room on his own. But then he rang me when I'd got home to say they'd shifted him into a roasting hot ward with a load of other people moaning and snoring, so I imagine he won't sleep much (given that me breathing lightly often disturbs him), and will likely not be quite so sanguine tomorrow when he sees the specialist 🙄
Hey ho. This is the first night he's ever spent in hospital in his life.
I'm home and cosy, let's see what tomorrow brings. Can't imagine I'm going to get much work done at any rate 🙄
We both shoved a few things into a bag before we went to the docs, must have been a premonition... So he is furnished with charger, tablet & headphones to watch a film, his normal medication, toothbrush etc which at least makes things easier.7 -

I think it was @foxgloves with all her talk of bag preparation that put the idea into my head! 😂 Definitely worth doing given the circumstances.
Just spoke to him, he's slept a bit but not seen anyone yet. I hadn't realised how restrictive visiting hours were on his ward - just three 1-hour slots through the day, and I've missed the first one 🙈 Heading over for the early afternoon one, and if he's not escaped by then, I'll just hang around in a cafe until the evening one.
Not even going to try to work myself today. I'll need to set off in a couple of hours anyway, and the house is rather a tip - need a gentle breakfast and a bit of pottering I think.6 -
Hate to say it but there is a Consultant and Junior Doctors strike on today and tomorrow so that may have an effect on whether or not Mr Cheery is able to be discharged.6
