Thank you both 😊 As ever, knowing that a bunch of 'strangers' on the Internet are thinking about you at times like this really makes a difference 😊 xxx
In other news, I think tomorrow the heating will go on. We are a draughty exposed farmhouse with thick stone walls, and we literally have a well in the cellar, which doesn't help 🙄😂 It's rained a LOT, and things are starting to feel a bit clammy and grim 🙄
I put the dehumidifier on in the living room earlier and it said 90% humidity 🙄😂 I know they're probably not entirely accurate, but it did feel quite damp in there (hence why I got the dehumidifier out...).
Thermostat says 14 degrees - we can manage at that, but obviously the house needs drying out a bit 🙄 So the thermostat will go up to 16 tomorrow, probably just in the evenings while we're sitting around - it never usually goes much beyond that anyway. No bad thing to test the boiler again before the winter 🙄5 -

Thanks beanie,
He was saying how much he was looking forward to a night with no beeping, but the flippin smoke alarm just woke us up - i assume the back up battery is going (its mains powered), or there's cobwebs in it, as there's clearly no fire 🙄4 -
Good to hear that Mr Cheery came home and anything serious ruled out.
Boo to the smoke alarm beeping waking you up this morning.5 -
Glad Mr Cheery is home and anything serious has been ruled out. I have been having beeping for almost a week now from the fire alarm. Even after changing the battery it is still beeping, so the electrician is coming over today as he thinks it might be faulty! We have several others so it is still safe but I wont be sorry to het the chirping to stopMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
