I'm often pretty useless after 9pm myself, but I can sometimes manage to do some fiddling about on the laptop 😊
Long day at work today. I was pleased that I managed to get a parking permit for the office last minute this morning - although it did mean I ended up going into town and back out twice, it meant I could actually work at my own desk during the middle.
However, in my haste to book it, I failed somehow to put the right time in - it finished at 9am instead of 6.30, and I got a blithering parking fine!! 😱😠 That'll teach me to do these things in a rush. Entirely my own fault - I did originally put in 6.30 but certainly didn't check it when I confirmed or printed - in fact I was so convinced of my innocence I took a photo of the permit through the window when I found the fine... 🙄
Anyway, nothing to be done except to pay quickly so it costs £35 instead of £70. Would have been cheaper just to pay to park all day in the town centre!!

Thanks ladies - very vexing but entirely my own fault! MSE seems to suggest I don't have a leg to stand on, it was entirely my own fault after all 🙄😂 but there's a chance that by appealing to their better nature I may get out of it.... But I don't have a legitimate reason to - it was an honest mistake, but not one caused by any lack of signage!
Hey ho.

Oh HOW annoying about the fine - somehow it's worse when you have to accept it was operator error too, isn't it - we've all been there!
Hopefully your back is feeling better now, I can definitely empathise with that one as mine is very far from right still at the moment too - not helped by much lugging about of boxes over the past few weeks of course. I have little excuse not to get back to some yoga again quite soon and see if that helps!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Ooh, gutting about the fine. We spent yesterday at work moving cars every two hours due to parking restrictions. We've always parked outside the building we work in. It's permit only (but can park for 2 hours without) but the residents all park outside their houses and only one or two cars park outside our building we aren't taking spaces that are needed. We've been there over two years now (moved in Christmas 2020) and it's never been a bother. However, yesterday was my first day back in that building since before summer and I was told that about 3 weeks ago, 2 colleagues had parking tickets! Apparently work paid them but we've been told that they won't pay for them again. So we need to be careful. We have asked the council if we are eligible for permits and they said noGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2004

Oh, that's vexing when it's changed!
Ours is annoying as it's onside 🙄 There's plenty of space, and theoretically you can have a permit 5 days a week, but you have to book for individual days, one at a time, and roughly 9-10 days in advance. They all go quickly, so you have to book early, and clearly people just book every day then don't cancel if they don't need them. They say it's a right to hunt for a space, not a guaranteed space, but there are ALWAYS plenty of empty spaces even when there are no permits left, which is why I was delighted to bag one that someone had returned that morning 🙄
Annoyingly, my colleague who lives about a mile away always has one - he clearly gets up far earlier than I do! 🙄😂
Hey ho. It's better than when we move to our new offices next year - they're right in the centre of town, and you can only have 2 permits a week, not 5, and there are far more people and fewer spaces. I suspect I won't want to drive into town anyway because of the traffic, so will park outside and walk in, but either way it'll add half an hour each way to my commute. Unless I get my act together with the fold bike, that is... at least it'll be an extra bit of exercise!
Anyway, off today, although I do have to get my act together and send a couple of emails about a funding bid that I couldn't get a grip to send yesterday 🙄
Then my sister is coming over for a day out 😃 She's coming on the train, so meeting her in town, which will be nice 😊 Need to also get my act together to get my brother in law a birthday present before I meet her 😱 Best get dressed I suppose!9
