Today's going to be a long day I think. We picked up Mr Cheery's dad earlier, and we've been for a pub lunch with some of his family who I'd not met before, and Mr Cheery hadn't seen for 40 years 😱
Now heading back to his dad's house, and we've got a few hours of cleaning to do, and Mr Cheery wants to fit some skirting board, so I suspect we won't be leaving any time soon... and then of course we're 2.5 hours from home 🙄4 -
Ooh, that does sound like a long day! Hope you get home and cosy in bed at a reasonable hour!Live the good life where you have been planted.

Got home eventually, thank you!
Here are the present bags I've made so far...
And here they are with things in them (in this case apples and a cardigan, not actual presents 😂)
The pink ribbon doesn't quite go, but for some reason I'd picked up an entire roll of it in a charity shop years ago so that's what's getting used 😂
Going to move back onto making blinds now - want at least one more kitchen one done today, preferably two!
Frustrating morning here 🙄 Stupid ancient laptop will barely switch on now. I was just trying to check i had everything on the external hard drive, not just photos, but now I can't even do that. Mr Cheery has taken over IT support. I spent about 3 hours yesterday setting up the ipad someone had 'generously' gifted his dad so I've had my fill (I say 'generously'- it was of course generous, but they didn't set it up, it wouldn't connect to WiFi, he's never used one before and has no idea how they work, and it wouldn't let me set him up an Apple ID because whoever had it before had apparently set up too many on that device already, so he can't download apps or anything 🙄 So I spent 3 hours while I could have been cleaning/plastering/whatever, but at least he can now actually get on the Internet.
Grr, sorry, I don't mean to sound ungrateful! These are all yet more examples of how everyday boring life can be rather complicated at times!
Right, blinds. It's freezing in the kitchen though 🙄 I've ordered sealant to finally finish round the windows which should be here soon, so hopefully that will help.
Feeling quite annoyed and overwhelmed this morning! Part of me thinks sewing will help, part of me recognises the danger of angry sewing and making stupid mistakes... 🙄13 -
Annoyed and overwhelmed? Maybe you need a lazy day to recharge a bit? It does sound like you are trying to do a lot after what was already a busy week.
Hugs just in case ((((((Cheery)))))))

Thanks KK, I do indeed probably need a day to recharge 🙄 Sadly sitting around doing nothing while there are a million things to do never feels that relaxing somehow 🙄 Not that I always DO any of the million things that need doing, mind you 🙄
Anyway, tried to lift myself out of my funk by visiting a local ish exhibition by an artist I like. It was cheerful actually, a nice drive through the autumnal countryside, a cosy barn full of lovely paintings and twinkly fairy lights, and a nice cup of tea and some Victoria sponge 😊 Bought a few cards to send to people I've not seen for a while, so that's nice.
Still not quite lifted me out of my fog 🙄 Mr Cheery is going out in a bit and I often find it easier to bring myself round when it's just me, so we'll see. Just having some lunch and then will plan put the afternoon.5 -
OK. So. Been in the loft to get some picture frames and some stuff for Mr Cheery. Made a couple more present bags. Helped Mr Cheery load the car and waved him off. He's done various things to my laptop, but I just spent yet another hour messing about trying to get it to load up enough to transfer files and now I am DONE with it for today. He can do what he likes tomorrow, but if it's not fixed by the end of the weekend I'm buying a new one 😠
Went to take the chickens their bedtime treats and I was too late - they were already in bed at 3.40pm! Very tempted to join them 🙄😂
So, I've got about 5 hours til Mr Cheery comes back, and I'd like to either be in a good mood, or to have got something useful done - preferably both 😂😂 so a list is needed...
4-5 SEWING
* finish remaining present bag
* lay put new blind lining
* attach first side
* attach second side
* sew up
5-6 BATCH COOKING
*get a couple of dishes in the oven ready for the freezer
6-7 HOME BLESSING
* get the flylady podcast on and do some cleaning!
7-8 PREP FOR TOMORROW
*printing
* bit of flute playing
* decide clothes
8-9 SEWING
* do whatever I didn't do earlier to finish the blind
9-10 RELAXING
* bath, film, reading, whatever
Sound like a plan?? Ready, steady, GO!6 -
Aw, Cheery, I hope that helps you - it's horrible to feel like that inside, isn't it, and yes, I find that doing something helps focus me out from it again. Going to see the art exhibition was a great start to it, for sure.2023: the year I get to buy a car3

Cheery, I know what you mean about all the ‘things looking at you’ and the guilt, but even so, sometimes you need to say ‘to heck with it’ and rest. If I don’t I tend to fall over and either get properly ill or fairly depressed because I end up so depleted.Hoping the bath at the end of that plan is gloriously relaxing and you sleep like a tree tonight! 😉❤️KKAs at 15.07.25:

Aww, that would be so cute going to bed with the chickens. Sometimes an early night does us all good eh?
