    re: your talk of Winter. I've just started reading 'The Winter1ng' which is about how we need to take time to retreat and care for ourselves. I've not read much but I'm really enjoying it so far. Your post made me think of the book and it's sounds like one you may enjoy.

    No specific plan for apples WelshmansDaughter - for now I'll just cook and bung them in the freezer to be retrieved at a later date for a relatively impromptu crumble 😁

    So, a nice if long day of trains today, should finally get home about 7.30 so still a while to go yet...

    Not a big fan of crumble here but apple batter pudding, that is a  whole different ball game.  Although rhubarb batter pudding is my favorite.  Then there is bacon batter pudding & dried fruit batter pudding...............
