I'll give you a wave on your way home through Hertfordshire. I'm guessing your train will go that route from London, although I could be wrong 🤣🤣🤣 but I'll still wave anyway.
How about Apple and Banana Jam for your windfalls? It's delicious 😊😊😊

Ooh, apple and banana jam sounds lovely! I never think of banana when I think of jam. Might have to have a jam-making extravaganza over Christmas, get all the gooseberries and blackcurrants out of the freezer as well 😁
Fed up of being on the train now. I've got a seat, but there are quite a lot of people, can't spread out and write in my notebook etc. I've got another hour left - I'm tempted to wander down the train and see if the other carriages are a little more empty... maybe after the next stop (although no idea where or when that is!)3 -
Cheery, I really hope you're home now and full of lots of tea and something nice to eat, the journey doesn't sound great at all, though you're coping with it beautifully as per usual.

The main line comes through our town too 😊 I did give you a wave Cheery. Hope you didn't get home too late.

Thank you all - I am indeed now home, cosy, and full of curry 😁 And there was a nice interlude as I was getting off the train - a young man had had a super long journey, I didn't get why but he wasn't able to go to the right train station, and was laughing on the phone with his girlfriend about how he was going to have to walk home etc. As we got off, an older man asked where he was trying to get to, and offered him a lift 😊 It was about 20 miles away, so I'm glad he didn't walk! 😮😂9

Evening MSE chums 😊
Another busy day here with yet more travelling, and some cheerful times and some good work news at the end of the day, so that was nice!
Three bits of annoying financial post though 🙄 All addressed to Mr Cheery.
1. A letter from the dentist saying he owed £23.80 from his last emergency appointment. Why didn't they just charge him at the end? He's convinced he paid something, so why not all - or is one of them mistaken? Will check the bank.
2. A duplicate of the above letter from the dentist 🙄
3. A £70 parking 'fine' because apparently we stayed in Aldi car park for 2 hours and 4 minutes a couple of weeks ago - 4 minutes over the alloted time 🙄 Clearly we did NOT stay in Aldi car park for 2 hours and 4 minutes. The 'evidence' they've sent shows a photo of our car entering the car park, and then, 2 hrs and 4 minutes later, a photo of... well, nothing - a completely black empty box 🙄😂
Needless to say, we won't be paying, but what a flippin hassle to go through the process of appealing. Will be reading up on Martin's advice - I was busy this afternoon so just skimmed enough to ascertain that it was nonsense 🙄9 -
They are very irritating bits of post! My mum and I have had the conversation today about why things have to be so difficult all the time (Not big things, but why can’t stuff be straightforward, you get good service from places etc.) - these definitely fit with this - all hassle you don’t need.Glad you had a good day and good news otherwise though 😊Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I totally agree that nothing these days seems to be straightforward. Even if they give you online access to something they put so much rubbish on there that MY security won't let me access it.I had to replace my fitbit a few weeks ago. Nothing on the sales guff to say you needed to have a tablet or iphone. Turns out I couldn't do it on my computer so had to buy a tablet.5

We are finding most of our life admin is taking up much more time than it did 5 years ago. Nothing seems to go smoothly and we end up either chasing or needing to redo things because the system failed the first time, like being randomly cut off whilst on hold. One silver lining is this is something I hear lots of people commenting on so I know it isn't us personally being harassed.
