Oh you are! That's brilliant! I loved that series - a bit too real after her son took it over, I stopped then, it was just such comfort food for me when she alone was writing it. I heard her talk at a science fiction convention in Glasgow, many years ago now, and she said, if you come to Ireland and you're a fan of mine, get in touch, and come see the house that dragons bought. She was great.2023: the year I get to buy a car7

Sorry for the hijack Cheery!l6 -
Ahhh fellow travelers of Pern, how I miss the comfort food, Ramorth was truly a character... sigh I miss those books.
Sorry cherry for the hijack but it's been niggling me for a while4 -
I was hoping her daughter Gigi would get on board as she has written at least one other book but I haven't seen any as yet.

Neither do I beanie but I do love that everyone is having a nice chat 😀😀 Do carry on! It's like happening on a little gathering in the corner of a party 😀
Didn't get any scything done this evening - ended up clearing a load of stuff ready for our visitor tomorrow 🙄 Butter bean stew thing in the haybox was a success though, very pleased with that 😊
Had a letter from the car insurance people, apparently they overcharged us £9.72 and are sending a refund 😂 No idea why, or why it's taken them since February to notice, but I won't turn my nose up at free dosh 😂
Also had Mr Cheery's credit card - it's just a second card on my account but will allow him to rack up the cashback as well as me, so even if it's just a couple of quid a month, it all adds up.
17p on the Happy Wheel so still well into negative figures for September but at least today went in the right direction!
Oh, and I did another mini Tilly Tidy today, can't remember how much but there's over £1 in there now, will check properly tomorrow.4 -
I just had a wee read of Ramorth's diary .... I will just leave that there 🤣🤣🤣🤣
yay to the refund, you putting it towards your gas bill?
can I ask what is happy wheel ?
it's like a wee party going on here:-)5 -
Certainly is El! I love it 😁
Not sure what I'm doing with the refund yet. Mostly at the minute spare dosh is going to build up the savings pots after they were decimated by the new kitchen 🙄 But this month I was planning on overpaying the mortgage with money from Prolific Academic as I'm sick of feeling like I'm making no progress with that, so maybe it can go in that direction... Will ponder...
Happy Wheel is my stupid term for taking advantage of low risk casino offers (one of which was called the Happy Wheel for a while). I started out doing Matched Betting, which then morphed into this when the Team Casino website appeared. Not for the faint hearted or desperate - it can go down as well as up - but over time it does build. I had £404 from it last month, and an average of about £200 each of the four or five months before that (before that was quite haphazard as I wasn't doing it very often, but overall between Matched Betting and casino offers I've had £6.5k since March 2019)3 -

My brain has broken, I'm not answering that, even though I do the baby version every day
