And an updated pic from near the end of today for comparison!
FOUR HOURS done today 😱😱 I'm mindful that I go back to work tomorrow, that a neighbour wants to borrow the scythe for a bit, and that it gets more difficult the more it gets rained on and flattened by the wind...
Four hours is a lot in a day though, especially following 3 yesterday, and I do feel about 150 years old now 😂😂 Just jumping in the shower while Mr Cheery sets up the fire pit thing to cook our tea in the garden 😊
Looking forward to going back to work for a rest! 😂 I've had 17 days off, and in that time...
* we've been to Mr Cheery's dad's twice (5 hours round trip each time, plus painting the ceiling both times)
* we've had 6 sets of visitors
* we've been to the seaside!
* I've done 19 hours of scything
Along with the usual cafe trips, pottering round charity shops, visiting friends, and a tiny bit of things like cleaning and washing 😂
I think I've had one single day lounging around the house - I spent most of it writing a five year plan 😂😂6 -

Scything looks great and I love the clouds in that photo too. Sounds like a great couple of weeks - a good mixture, although maybe less ceiling painting would have been good!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Ha - a bit more painting of my own ceiling would have been good, but my arms are being rather hammered at the minute! 😮
I'm not sure how I do it either Beanie 🙄 Suspect I'll overdo it at some point and do myself a mischief 🙄 But let's hope not!2 -
Oh, and somehow I managed to make a very decent wodge on the Happy Wheel today after several days of losses - August total now standing at a very respectable £168 😊
Yes, the clouds have been most pleasing today 😊😊 Had a lovely time drinking cider at the end of the garden and watching them go by 😊2 -
That sounds like a productive "holiday", and a really lovely day to end on. Cider and cloud shapes, I like that2023: the year I get to buy a car2

Me too, KC 😊
Back to work today, although I haven't actually opened the laptop yet 😮 Been finally doing the banking - not looked for 3 weeks so it took a while 🙄
All sorted, although July/August has been quite spendy with one thing and another, including some stuff for Mr Cheery's dad etc, and even more cafe trips than usual meeting up with other people, and Mr Cheery's birthday. I've been plonking extra bits into the new car fund, but I think I need to make sure some of the other pots are topped back up before I do any more of that.
Anyway, we have plenty of food in and no worry about meeting our bills so are in a very fortunate position, so I ain't complaining - more a reminder to myself to reign things in a little. Maybe a frugal September challenge is in order??
Anyway, work, and I'm going to leave my phone in a different room!4 -
