Hope meeting goes well Cheery and isn’t as scary as you’re expecting.

Good luck with your meeting! X1

Good luck! For you to say it’s scary it must be a terror!1

Ha, thank you all 😁 In reality it won't be that scary - we need approval for something we're doing from a national body, so we'll be discussed by a panel, then I'll be invited in to answer their questions. Just rather daunting - and we NEED approval before we can do anything else.
In reality the worst that will happen is that they'll ask me something I can't answer (unlikely) or I'll give an answer they're not satisfied with (more likely) and they,'ll ask us to make some amendments (but will tell us what they need to be).
So not life or death - just potentially a bit uncomfortable for a few minutes 😂
And if that's the scariest life gets, then, well, good!4 -
I need to be more like you Cheery - you are very good at keeping things in perspective. I will try to remember this next time I have to do something I am anxious about.3

(But generally, yes, I'm reasonably calm and I do try to keep a bit of perspective - doesn't stop me getting nervous, but it does usually mean that nervousness is channelled into good planning!)
30 mins to go... 😱😂3 -

Ha, EH, it's just the usual sort of waffle! 😂 I love reading entire diaries, but I'm always slightly alarmed when anyone reads mine all the way through - what a load of nonsense to have stuck in your head! 😮😂😂
Scary meeting was ok. We were in there for the max amount of time (20 mins) and they asked a surprising number of questions, but mostly seemed to be nitty gritty practicalities rather than fundamental issues. I'm hoping we'll get away with being asked to make minor changes to documents rather than anything more drastic - counting it as a cautious success for now but we have to wait a couple of weeks for the outcome. 🙄
Came home early as Mr Cheery had to give Bonny chicken a bath this afternoon as her back end was all manky again 😕 Impressed (and thankful!!) he managed it on his own, but he wasn't convinced she'd go in the run for him at bedtime... As it happened, they were all standing at the door of the run when I got back so I just shut them in with no bother at all 😂4 -
EH, it was interesting and I always learn something from a diary, so it’s a worthwhile exercise! And am in awe of the responsibility you take on with that large beer festival! Following along now and sure I’ll delurk soon 😊Cheery, I bet you are thankful that Mr Cheery sorted the manky chicken bum - Sally manky cat bums are always left to me (usually with assistance at the front end to hold them still)!Glad meeting went well!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I am indeed thankful that Mr Cheery sorted that, although I'm not squeamish about such things either. We've done it several times now (only ever for this chicken) - he usually catches and holds and I clean. I find it really hard to catch this one, I'm not sure I've ever managed it!
Anyway, she's still not looking great this morning, but she was still jumping on and off the perch and eating, so no more interference for now. She gets so stressed I think doing anything too drastic would give her a heart attack 🙄
Don't feel like I slept particularly well but at least I'm working at home today, and it's the last day before five days off.
Happy Wheel down £18 this morning, so back at around £168 for the month. Prolofic at £8 with £3.50 pending - I'm going to leave the alert on and see if I can snag a few through the day (although I'll turn it off if too distracting).
Mr Cheery made some soup from everything that needed using up in the fridge yesterday, so got that for lunch (green lentil and all kinds of veg).
I'm going to try doing a bit of scything tonight - even if I can get another hour done that will be something. I need to turn and rake the grass I cut last weekend and get it taken off the field, but I can do that while the chickens are roaming around.
Back later with a plan for the bank holiday weekend, which WILL involve finishing the ceiling so I don't have to add it to September's list!5
