It’s so tedious, being ill, isn’t it?. Have just been to allotment but completely wiped out now. Heart rate was ridiculous and I was walking paaaainfully slowly.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Ouch, you two take it easy! Believe me when I say I know what its like to be bored when you're ill, but ... imitating the Queen of Sheba is what you're after2023: the year I get to buy a car2

Certainly is tedious!! Feels companionable having you ill as well though TMV 😂 I had a lie down for an hour, then got up and changed the bedding in the chicken house, and now need another lie down 🙄
This had better not go on for too much longer, I've got stuff to do! 😠😂3 -
I know what you mean - it's nice to have someone suffering in solidarity, not that I'd wish this on anyone!
I know... it's so hard not being able to just get on and do stuff! KC, don't worry, I'm sure Mr MV would consider me to be behaving like Lady Muck at the moment. It is nice being cooked for - recently I've done most of the cooking!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I'm just glad past me put a load of stuff in the freezer 🙄😂 Mr Cheery did make scones this afternoon which was a very welcome treat!
Not quite sure what to do with this evening. Mr Cheery has just left, so I can venture forth into other areas of the house, which is quite exciting 😂 Might sit at the kitchen table for a while, for a bit of variety 😂
Going to raid the freezer, and also maybe make myself some potato wedges to go with whatever's in there. Might see about a few more sign up offers for Mr Cheery... but then I might have had my fill of MB for today 🙄
Mind is racing a bit today, so might see if I can pin down some of the things it's racing about and calm myself down a bit.
Told my colleague I won't be in the office on Monday (we were going to meet up) but not going to decide about actually working until Monday itself. I might have a gentle, essentials-only couple of days and see how I go. Deciding whether I should register this week as sick instead of holidays - depends if I can carry this week over as I think I'm only working about 9 days between now and the end of August (when leave year ends) so haven't really got time to take the week back before then! 😂5 -
Enjoy venturing 'out' this evening! Imagine Mr Cheery is very cheery about going out for work this evening - it must have been very depressing the last few years for him and his colleagues.
Scones sound delicious - Mr MV is only a very rare baker so nothing so exciting here (but that's a good point, I think there's the ingredients for millionaire's shortbread, which is his speciality!).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Yep, he's found the last few years very tough 🙄 as a pair, income-wise we've been fine, but mentally for him it's been pretty rotten so yes, he's very pleased to be back out, even just occasionally!
Ooh, I do love millionaire's shortbread 😁 Mr Cheery is not a baker other than scones (which you'd expect given his propensity to ration sweet treats!) Mind you, I've lost a stone now and have no intention of putting it back on again!
Hasselback potatoes in the oven - only recently discovered these and as far as I can see they're just roast potatoes but cut into little ridges?? I love them 😁 they look like little hedgehogs 😁 Counting it as MSE as I used 5 small shrivelled potatoes that were starting to sprout and wouldn't have lasted much longer... Also roasting a couple of carrots from the carrot mountain we seem to have in the fridge, and am defrosting some kind of aubergine and green lentil thing.
Still can't taste anything properly but I'm actually starting to feel a bit hungry today so that's a start 🙄5 -
Afternoon chums
Not entirely sure how it's 2.30 already! Mind you, I didn't actually roll out of bed til 11am so perhaps that's how...
Feeling a bit more human today - still a bit dizzy mind you and full of cold. Spent a couple of hours messing with the Happy Wheel and pleased to report I have recovered some of yesterday's losses and am now sitting at £217 for the month. Quite reasonable. There are a few more offers I can do today if I want to, but I've been at it for 2.5 hours nearly, which is enough for now.
Raining here again. Slightly annoying as I tested the washing machine yesterday with a couple of towels - the spin was fine and I hung them on the line, but they were still damp in the evening so I left them out... now they'll be wetter than if the spin cycle hadn't worked! Hey ho.
Right. Another cup of tea and some sewing/knitting with a film, I think.
Supposedly back to work tomorrow, although not in the office. And (shhhh) I might find out about my promotion tomorrow... The meeting was on Friday... I've not checked email, because they did say they'd send out decisions towards the back end of this coming week (and I don't want to see what else is waiting in my inbox) but I confess I'm tempted to have a wee peek at this point just in case.....6 -
Oops, still haven't got round to sewing with a film... but I HAVE had an extremely productive and enjoyable three hours writing down EVERY SINGLE THING that was on my mental 'to do' list (and on actual physical to do lists). I'm a big fan of the Getting Things Done method at work, and periodically I try to implement it at home, and never quite manage it. This is yet another one of those attempts
No idea whether it will stick this time - going to try and make it stick though! Certainly made me feel better seeing everything written down, head feels a lot clearer, and identifying the next action towards each project has made them far more likely to happen.
I've ticked two things off my list already!

Morning chums 😊
Mr Cheery went out last night (we were both meant to be going 🙄) and ended up staying at a friend's house, so I sneaked a night on the sofa (which is very comfy) - I've not been in the living room for a week so this was very exciting! 😂
Had my first meeting this morning, and goodness me, I could barely string a sentence together 🙄 A mix of covid brain and a week off work has rendered me incoherent and barely able to remember what my job is. Going to be taking it very slowly today I think - essential and easy tasks only! 😂
No sign of Mr Cheery yet, hopefully he's having a nicely enjoyable time talking to someone other than me! 😂6
