You take it easy Cheery! I have just come to terms with the fact that the project I’m meant to be doing for my Cambridge work isn’t going to happen and I need to hand back what I’ve done (deadline Friday and someone has got to find time to do it!). I managed to get up and breakfasted this morning and do a tiny bit of ‘my’ work before I collapsed back into bed for a nap. I don’t know whether it was seeing people yesterday or having to climb the stairs twice but I was done in. And my brain is definitely murky - not good for report writing!Glad Mr Cheery is out gallivanting - I know I felt quite isolated earlier in the year when Mr MV had it as no one wanted to see me in case I hadn’t yet come out with it.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Aw bless you. Glad you've handed the work back though, definitely a good idea if you're not up to it. Murky brain is definitely not good for report writing! I'm trying to stick to straightforward things and not do anything potentially confusing (for me or other people) but I'm not sure I'm the best judge of that today 🙄🙈4

Oh dear! Well hopefully you have some simple stuff you can do. 'My' work was only 5 mins worth but it's stuff I can do whilst asleep normally, so that was something.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Something is better than nothing!! At least that's been my motto today
So, I made it through the whole day, albeit working slowly, and with a bit of a headache by the end. I did even get a couple of things ticked off my list! And I worked through my emails from last week, and got everything written on a list, and a list of priorities for tomorrow written as well. All good.
In other news...
* Latest round of covid study vouchers has arrived. Interestingly, the results of the tests have NOT arrived yet - they're usually pretty quick, but these are the first ones that we've had to post rather than have collected by someone, so that's likely to have extended it. I'm interested to see, as we did them on Tuesday - the day I had a negative lateral flow test (and then a positive one the following day). Anyway, that's £40 in supermarket vouchers waiting til I can go to the supermarket again.
* £41 on the Happy Wheel today, bringing July's total back up to a respectable £258. Still waiting for a couple of free things to come in over the next couple of days too.
* Just did a couple of Prolific studies - total pending now standing at £5.79 so I'll cash out when that arrives, and add to the car fund.
* QMee has been sitting at an annoying £4.39 for a few days now, so I'll try to tip that over £5 and cash that out as well before the end of the month.
Must have saved a fortune with me being ill this week. I was going to be off work anyway, so we likely would have had a couple of 'normal' cafe trips, plus a couple of excursions a little further afield, that likely would have involved a cafe as well, and we may even have tried to meet up with someone for tea. So none of that, no diesel (for me at least). And I would have been going into the office today as well, so that's probably another £8 worth of diesel saved as well.
Had a LOVELY tea from the freezer tonight - a curry Mr Cheery had made. I could actually taste it! I don't know whether my taste buds are coming back, or whether everything I've been eating the rest of the week has just been blandHad a couple of boiled eggs with it, and a mini naan bread thing, and goodness me it was nice.
Right - off to sit on the sofa with my knitting.5 -
Sounds like you've had a pretty good day all things considered. Glad the tea was enjoyable!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Glad you seem to be coming through the other side of being poorly. The brain fog seems to be a common sign so I hope that improves for you.Have you resumed HP film marathon?June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!3

Thanks both 😊
No, I didn't resume the HP marathon! Maybe next time 🙄😂 I did the first 3, and then lost my appetite for it 🙄 Didn't particularly enjoy the fourth, but I kind of didn't want to miss one out and start again with the 5th, and also Umbridge is really annoying so do I miss out number 5 as well?? My poor brain couldn't cope so I just stopped altogether 😂
Bit of a listless evening. The highlight was my tea 😂 and then I've just been knitting and watching TV and thinking about how we need to get round to making wills, but then that set me thinking about what we'd do with the chickens if we both died 🙄 (I do realise there are worse problems!) and then I got all gloomy 🙄
Hey ho. Back in my little pod bed in the study again tonight. Hoping to be let back in the actual bed at some point this week!! 😂5 -
Have you read the books, Cheery? They're much better than the films IMHO, especially the fourth one as the film misses out so much detailMortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

We have exactly the same issues with wills - always end up thinking about what will happen to the cats!
I’m with SC on HP - haven’t even seen the films, it’s all about the books for me.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I've read (and listened to) all the books several times, and seen all the films several times 😂 Different, but they both have their charms for me. Next time I'm ill I'll carry on with the film watching marathon 😂
£25 on the Happy Wheel this morning, so up to £282 for July now. Very respectable. What's slightly less respectable is that, after I'd done that, I fell back asleep and have only just woken up again 🙄😂
But I'm meant to be taking it easy, so no judgement from me. No meetings today, and got a few fairly straightforward things I can work through, nothing wildly complicated, and also a few weiner recordings etc that I've been meaning to watch - might be a nice afternoon activity with a bit of sewing, and they've been on my list for ages so it will be nice to cross them off!7
