Thank you both. EH, overwhelm is possibly the best word for it. It was just too much. DH told me almost exactly what you said too. It was definitely a step out of my comfort zone. I kind of fell into this job with a few things all lining up a certain way for me to get it so I've always felt that I needed to prove that I deserved it. I think I've done well but I do still sometimes worry that someone will "find me out" and realise I shouldn't have this job! Ridiculous I know.
Anyway! I got the job! They offered it to me and after a bit of a wobble I accepted it. I spoke to my boss yesterday and had a bit of a cry. He was really supportive as he could see how this job would be perfect for me. He was a bit upset at the thought of losing me though which was nice. I have a few more people I need to tell before it becomes public and there was nearly a slip up yesterday where someone nearly told someone else before I'd had chance to tell the people who need to know. It's difficult when you work in a small community. Everyone knows everyone else! I've had to swear him to secrecy! He did understand though.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2004 -

(big mistake I know) and he saw one that he liked so we picked it up and I moved the money over from savings on Saturday.
Saturday morning DH pulled up DS' carpet and floorboards to fix the electrics, then started to put his room back together. We decided as we were in there we might as well build his desk for him, which ended up with changing his room around for it to fit. It looks great in his room and he loves it. We have left all his toy boxes out and have asked his to go through them all as some of the toys are way too young for him now. He's cracking on with that, once he's finished we can get rid of/pass on anything he doesn't want to keep.
This took us to around 2pm on Saturday and I was feeling a bit despondent as I had wanted to use Saturday to get the snug done. We had lunch then got going on the snug. DH moved the TV from one wall to another, the two settees were moved from the conservatory, the lamps were built and placed and the rug put down. I was exhausted by the end, after doing two rooms but it was so worth it. I am so pleased with the snug. It looks fab and DS is pleased with his room too, so that's a win too.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2004 -
Pinch, Punch, First of the month and all that!
How is it August already? Where on earth did July go?? It's so scary how fast this year has gone. I barely feel like we've made any progress on anything so far this year. To be honest, this past fortnight does feel as though it was productive. I feel better about the house and strangely I feel better about myself too. Just need to keep that momentum going. Let's have a look at how I did goals wise:
So Goals for July:
Decluttering 0/20
Money Made £245.94/£200
Overpayment £300/£200
Where is the jumpy smiley? Has he gone too??
So money made and overpayments went well. I made a last minute £100 overpayment yesterday as our account was looking good and I know how much money comes out today. Decluttering didn't go well but with all the sorting out in different rooms I have boxes and bags that have been decluttered but haven't quite left the house yet so don't count. I just need to actually do something with the stuff so that it counts.
August is obviously school holiday and I run a holiday club one week so it's usually taken up by family things. Although my two are getting older and don't want to do as much with me anymoreFor example after seeing the Snug all finished, DD arranged a watch party with her friends. A few came over yesterday and they binge watched some series or other, then watched a film to finish it off. She had a great time and I did normal work/house stuff.
Goals for August then:
Decluttering 0/20 - a lot of that is just sitting ready to go
Money Made £0/£200
Overpayment £0/£200 - let's go for £200 again and see if I can beat it againGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2002 -

Well that's what happens! I start mid September. I've actually just had an email from them asking what date I can start so I need to work that out and let them know.

Thank you @Jessy103 I have slowly started telling people IRL so it's starting to feel more real. I had a meeting with my boss yesterday and had a little cry. Good job he trained as a therapist years ago
Today I was supposed to go to one of our buildings and have a sort out but one colleague is off sick, one is covering for his boss while she's on A/L so can't leave his office, and the other is recovering from surgery so can't lift anything. I'm going to use the day prepping for the holiday club I run mid August.
Today I'm also going to make bread with DD. When she was little she always made bread with me, then decided when she was about 5/6 that she was the bread maker of the house so I was put out of a jobA lot of the baking in this house has gone by the wayside for a number of years for various reasons but I am trying to get that back. I mentioned about making bread and DD was surprisingly really excited. So we'll be doing that later when she gets up! She wants to make garlic bread as well as we have Pizza on the meal plan. I'm happy for her to do that. No problem.
I also need to pull up some carrots for Sunday dinner. They have done really well this year. Last year we had small and very small carrots but from what I can see, these ones look decent sized.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2007
