Chips on the way home from a clothes shopping trip sounds like a fab idea 😊😊 Glad she's got things she's happy with, sounds like she'll have a great work experience 😊2

Morning all. Got a busy day today. I'm off to work in about half an hour and won't be home til very late as we have an open mic night this evening. I will pop home quickly later to pick up DD as she is loving the music events we put on. I'm hoping it will encourage her to take her piano practice a bit more seriously

Weather here has been miserable. Upside is of course , I haven't had to water the garden for 3 days! Downside is that the solar panels are not generating as much as they have been. I know it's all relative and I shouldn't really complain. We have a big roof and a lot of panels so our electricity needs are still being covered. (We are pretty careful though)
We had a bill from our energy company and we sold back £95.43 worth of electric to the grid last month. I'm pretty happy about that!
Right I need to go. Have a great dayGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2003 -
Ooh, those panels are certainly earning their keep! Excellent work!3

starnac said:I do have a few things to do today.
*Contribute to teacher gifts
*Check banks
*Meal plan for week
*Send email
*Check BTL mortgage
*Declutter boxes in porch
*washing from weekend (hope the sun comes back out for the solar panels)
*Plant potatoes (maybe not if this rain keeps up)
*Choose paint for snug (We have three shades to chose from which I have painted on the wall. We just need to agree on one)
Cheery the solar panels certainly are earning their keep. The money we earn from selling excess back to the grid goes into our energy account. We have a decent surplus now which should see us over winter.
I am hoping that next week is a bit quieter as I do have quite a big list of things I really need to get done and that I keep putting off for different reasons. Mainly lack of time and/or motivation!Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2003 -
That's excellent payback on the panels isn't it - and especially allowing that you're covering pretty much all your own use to. I'm still of a mind that we might well go with panels in the new house - although we'll probably see how electricity-hungry it is first. I do like the idea of excess from selling back helping to offset heating costs through winter though.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Our panels were definitely a good idea. We do most of our electricity things during the day now (as I mostly work from home) and charge batteries to use when it gets dark. Selling excess back to the grid works well too and we are happy with the amount we have had last month.
Although it was added on to our account, which leaves a pretty big surplus in there so I think I'm going to request some of that money back and/or reduce our monthly payment. DH and I need a sit down and a chat about that but it's my work's annual conference this week and I've been so busy with prep and meetings and then I had to attend, so we have hardly seen each other! Must get on to that as we have a few other money things to discuss too.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2004 -
Right, let's do some catching up.
June goals didn't go as well as I hoped as I ended up working quite a lot for the conference.
Goals for June:
Decluttering 4/20
Money Made £166/£200
Overpayment 0/£200
Decluttering didn't happen to be honest. Must try harder!!
Money made was not bad to be honest. I could have tried harder but it's a start and better than nothing!
No overpayments made. A mess up in our bank account meant we ended up in our overdraft and it took a while to sort out. It has now been sorted and overdraft cleared again. Phew!
So Goals for July:
Decluttering 0/20
Money Made 0/£200
Overpayment 0/£200
Let's try again for the same goals and if it still isn't happening then I will re visit.
I have already made a start on money made as a friend insisted on giving me £2 for some eggs. I find this really strange. I have never accepted money for our eggs since we got the chickens but recently more and more people have insisted on giving me money for them. I just feel awkward. Maybe I need to get over it?Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2003 -
Just thought! I should have added the solar panel money to the money made list.
Goals for June:
Decluttering 4/20
Money Made £261.43/£200 woohoo!
Overpayment 0/£200

As far as the money for eggs thing goes - people know that the eggs cost you, you enable them to have eggs that they trust - they're prepared to pay you for the privilege, even if you don't supply all your eggs. Please accept the money! Thank you, that will go into my kitty for the chicken food. You'll do fine2023: the year I get to buy a car3

Agreed, people are just probably more aware now of how much it costs to put those eggs on their table, so they're happy to acknowledge that by making a contribution towards it. Remember, you're not asking, they are offering....Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
