Well the piano tuner was here forever yesterday! I literally googled "how long does it take to tune a piano" while he was here and he took twice as long as what most of the answers said! Anyway it's done now. £75 for that. But I did get paid for some work I did a while ago so that's £160 to add to the total.
I'm also waiting for another invoice to be paid and it's quite a bit of money. I haven't heard anything for about 3 months so I've resent the invoice. Hopefully that will give them a kick up the bum. Problem is, the company that owes me the money is well known for being slow and is around 2 months behind with payments as it is. So I'm not holding my breath for that one to be paid just yet!Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2002 -
No harm in a re-send after that amount of time.
The piano tuner gets a fixed rate? I hope so!2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -
Yes it was a fixed rate thankfully. £75 doesn't actually work out as that much when you consider how long he was actually here for. He obviously didn't have another job he had to rush off for!Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2001

Just made an extra £1. 😆 Last week my youth group found out I had chickens and one of them asked me if he could have some eggs (he's a really good baker) as he can't get any in the shops. I said yes and brought him some this evening. He insisted on paying for them even though I said no. So I told him to call it £1. Every little helps doesn't it?

It certainly does - I'm glad he insisted, and that's a very fair price. Good for both of you!2023: the year I get to buy a car2

I've had quite a busy weekend. I stayed with a very lovely friend for a race. Race and company was fab. The drive home not so much
I did not want to get up to normality this morning. Two and a half cups of tea in and I'm still not fully awake. Both kids have left for school. DH went to work super early today. I'm hoping that means he'll be home early as I have barely seen him. I got home last night, showered and went to bed so it will be nice if he's home a bit early tonight.
I've got a meeting at work at 10am. I was planning to walk into work this morning but it is absolutely chucking it down here. Which is nice as we haven't had decent rain for what feels like a long time. Possibly a month?? Anyway, it means I won't be walking and so I don't need to leave just yet.
I do have a few things to do today.
*Contribute to teacher gifts
*Check banks
*Meal plan for week
*Send email
*Check BTL mortgage
*Declutter boxes in porch
*washing from weekend (hope the sun comes back out for the solar panels)
*Plant potatoes (maybe not if this rain keeps up)
*Choose paint for snug (We have three shades to chose from which I have painted on the wall. We just need to agree on one)
Right I need to go brush my hair and teeth and leave. Have a good day allGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2003 -

My meeting took longer than I thought. I took milk in a flask instead of buying some, putting the leftover in the fridge and then someone throwing it away later on in the week because they don't check it.
I did however, send an email I've been putting off for weeks. I've built it up into a major issue in my head but I pulled up my big girl knickers and finally sent it! It's a huge weight off my mind and I've already had a reply and it wasn't as bad as I thought! I'm a numpty sometimes! It's a huge thing ticked off my To Do list though.
This evening I am taking DD to get some new clothes for her work experience next week. Neither of are keen clothes shoppers so neither of us are looking forward to itbut she can't exactly turn up in her leggings/ tiny shorts and a t shirt so she needs something more professional. Wish me luck!

Very best of luck, starnac - you'll definitely need it, shopping with a daughter that age! I hope she enjoys the work experience, though, it can be a great time if the firm handles it well.2023: the year I get to buy a car2

Thank you KC. All good thankfully. She's going to the primary school the kids used to go to before she left/we moved house so we know the head and the teachers really well. She'll have a fab time there. She is absolutely made to be a teacher. Even as a young child you could see she'd be a great teacher. She's so patient and encouraging.
We managed to get her two jumpsuits. Very summery vibe. She looked beautiful in them. I know I'm biased but she did. She'll need to wear a cardigan with the one as it's a halter neck and she's not keen on the amount of shoulder she's showing bless her. But she did really well. She eventually hit a wall with trying things on where she didn't like anything. So we called it a day and bought chips on the way back home.
All in all a successful trip
