My budget for going out is Treats and Entertainment and includes nights out (rare), takeaways, pubs and SM naughtiness like chocolate or ice-cream - not digestives though as these are essentially crackers with meSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Came in at £293.81 for January so slightly under my £320.00 budget but annoyed with myself as last week spent more on shopping than I planned otherwise would have been more like £100 less hopefully will do better in February.Frugal challenge 2025
Feb Grocery Challenge £2504 -
I spent £76.88 last week and £71.07 this week so I'm declaring £340.29/£400. I'm happy with that and I'll continue with £80 per week I think. Cat treats were the lastest thing to have a substantial price rise today. £1.25 instead of 99p. I'll get them in HB's in future where they have gone up from 79p to 99p.

No spends today so onto February. Pleased with the results but I have eaten quite a bit from stocks, food hub and community pantry, all of which I will carry on with.

Oh I'm also going to separate food from household spends. I will discount January's spends though, as I don't think it was much.

Finished the month with £35 to spare. I’ve popped into a saving pot. Will not be the same saving in February unfortunately.4

It’s that time - I’m declaring too, £183.69 from a £200 budget @elsiepac - thank you for running the thread
It’s been a really good exercise to do this and it’s got me walking more to pick up Olio bits. I’ve also realised just how much food I keep in the house! I can definitely eat a lot more from stores each monthI’m going to aim for £180 in Feb
well done all who hit their targets and keep the faith everyone elseGrocery Challenge

I have a few pages to catch up on
I’ve just counted up my spends for January and I’ve come in at £86.78 which includes all food and household buys. I did use some store cupboard ingredients eg lentils but I’ve also got some food left. So i think that balances it out a bit. I have another 5 evening meals left and the same for breakfasts and lunches.
I think I’ll aim for an annual budget of £1200 to include Christmas. Oh I should say this doesn’t include any money spent on eating out/coffee out. That’s a separate budget (also being restricted!).4 -
Good evening all!! Great work to all those who came in under! And well done to those who didn't, its a great place to start and know where to go from there!

I've been very unwell this month which has meant I've been largely housebound so I've eaten up quite a lot of stores and freezer bits and bobs.
I spent very little due to not going shopping apart from managing to raid M*rks this afternoon, as it was the first day I felt energetic enough to get that far, so this month I've spent £43.82/£124.
I'm going to add the £80.18 to the bulk fund for the moment and hope that there is a surplus at the end of the year to apply to festive food or presents. I didn't spend any of the bulk fund either this month but am now low on powdered milk, frozen bread and coffee among other things. When I feel up to it I will sally out to stock up on those.
There were four Wednesdays in the month, none of which I was well enough to do any baking for so the baking budget now has a surplus of £20 which I intend to carry forward in case I want to buy some nuts or other expensive ingredients.
See you all over on the February thread.
P.S. I did notice in M*rks that the half size tins of their own brand baked beans were on offer for 20p each, which is 5p cheaper than Mr T's own brand equivalent. Just thought I'd mention it in case it's useful to anyone on here.
