I don’t do individual squares but just keep going round, it’s very satisfying and I think more enjoyable for me.I’m into felting currently, that’s extremely satisfying.Life happens, live it well.3

It also keeps you warm while you are making it.4

Debsnewbudget said:I made a jam sponge in the microwave tonight.I was very uncertain that it would work but 5 mins cooking and 5 mins resting and it was delicious.Just grease a pudding basin, put loads jam in bottom, try and put some up the sides. Mix together a sponge mixture, add it on the top, put grease proof paper on the basin with an elastic band and microwave.

But given my wrist is aching from my 'larger' square I think it's wiser to stick to larger squares to stitch together this time around.willow_loulou said:I’m into felting currently, that’s extremely satisfying.
During my childhood I learned to knit (and was still a fairly avid knitter up until 1990), do tapestries, cross-stitch (have a LOT of kits in the loft, but have done very little in the last 19 years), lace making (which I enjoyed, but would need help to get going again), and carding/spinning (great fun, and my Mum still has her spinning wheel). My Mum also tried to teach me embroidery, but I never got the hang of that. I used to watch her doing macrame with interest, but for some reason she never introduced me to that one....

It looks as though people will be reviving old skills and hobbies this winter.I love knitting and am lost without a pair of needles by my chair.I shall be starting this weekend to knit ten chocolate orange covers for the family as what started of as just four has now snowballed to friends wanting them as well and even grown up ones
I did a bit of Christmas shopping this morning and so far have cracked about half of it.I like to get it done and wrapped by the end of November if I can and as it was actually dry this morning I got stuck in. One thing I am hunting for is a chcoclate bar that a friend likes called Dairy Crunch I think its by Nestles but none of the big supermarkets seem to stock it I tried Poundland and no luck there either.is it not sold anymore I wonder ?

I don,t know about this chocolate bar JackieO but I did read in the paper earlier this week that a number of food manufacturers are going to stop manufacturing some favourite products because of cost and other pressures. My favourite Mini Cheddars were amongst those scheduled for the chop so I will have to stock up!4

JackieO - have you looked on Amazon? They do white Dairy Crunch and they do the milk chocolate ones but could only see packs of 16 of those so they might be more than you want to buy.
