I’ve got myself in a pickle. I moved all my money round from seperate accounts into a better savings rate account and I’ve misplaced my notebook to know what was existing savings versus this challenge. Not sure whether to just start the challenge again from now or just put a guesstimate in for the last 2 months and continue.1

On a separate note, maybe now’s a good time to move your notebook onto an Excel spreadsheet or Google Sheet if you don’t have Excel?"If you aren’t willing to own a stock for ten years, don’t even think about owning it for ten minutes” Warren Buffett

I retire this month and my target was only a 6 month one, so this is my last entry (sob), though I will continue to lurk to see how you are all doing.
My target was to have £10k more by June. I’ve saved £7k, spent £2k on a holiday (much needed) and lost about £14k on my shares (and still going down, I can barely bring myself to check), so a net loss of £9k. Almost what I was hoping to increase savings by!
Reading all your comments has been a great motivator over the years. I certainly wouldn’t have managed to save what I did without this forum, so a big thank you to SlowlyFading for all your work, to Geoffers for his spreadsheets and to you all for all your interesting posts.
Good luck everyone; keep saving!

#36 Declaring £850 for May bringing me up to a total of £5000 for the year so far.
£565 left in joint current account, £35 underspend on personal account and £250 to my regular saver making a total of £850 for the month. Payday or pension day tomorrow. However I have not allowed for the drop in value of our investments which have taken a bit of a battering over recent months.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
