    That is great news Rosa!

I sometimes think that being a long term MSE'er does make it quite difficult to feel as though we can treat ourselves! The habit of scrutinising everything for value and STILL being reluctant to buy definitely makes things tricky!

Well, I have ordered clothes to try so maybe there will be something worth keeping for another celebration treat!
This week's small things focus is the campervan insurance and other annual costs.  Already got it down by £50 - the renewal was about £25 less than last year, and another broker promises to beat renewal by £25.  Not sure I will be able to save anything on the breakdown cover, but that is kind of my own choice as I have usually picked the expensive sort with dual recovery.  I might be able to reconsider that now that most of the places I'd go are 5 hours less drive away.

I'm not sure if they'll cover the van but I've had nothing but good experiences with Autoaid. Unlike my mum who was left stranded with a flat battery by one of the big two names.

I've had them for the car and they were really good.  Just need to remember to keep a credit card available, as they work (or used to) on pay and reclaim.
They probably would cover the van as I think it's the driver that's covered not the vehicle.  If I'm not going with dual recovery then it would probably make sense to go with them.

We always have to check the small print on breakdown cover to ensure islands are included - these days they mostly are, but there are still a few who say mainland locations only. On that exact subject, we had an extremely positive experience with AXA a few years ago while over on Uist - we were struggling for the lass on the phone to pinpoint our location - and with phone signal. I commented that if they used X firm it was ironic as I could literally see their roof from where I was, although they were some miles distant. She said it was them, and she would get them to call me as thst would mean we could describe the location using local landmarks. They did, I did, and they were with us extremely promptly. We’ve stuck with them since as they are competitive on price too, for cars at least.

Oh good point, thanks EH.  Will check both, though I assume my CAMC Green Flag cover would include it.
Oddly I now can't find anything on the AutoA1d site about their payment methods, so perhaps it's changed.

You no longer have to pay and claim with AutoAid, that changed a number of years ago.

Aha, thank you.  That would explain why it isn't mentioned!  Only the actual recovery options to check then  :)

Little thing today, logged mid month meter readings.  Still slightly over my monthly payment, but I went into this arrangement with a bigger debit so am ok with that.  It should catch up and hopefully add some credit before I get to next winter.
More minor spending on the dog - Ald! had large size cool mats at a really good price so grabbed a couple of those.  Also an organiser for the car - need to sort through the stuff already in there, swop things that need access in a hurry to the new back of seat organiser and just leave the emergency stuff in the storage part.  And review the first aid kits (human and dog related).
Clothes orders have been tried on but are disappointing - keeping one top, one dress, and need to get a different size for a couple of things from the other order (I like them but a different size may be a better fit).
