Not much to add for a Sunday shuffle...
Had to find my local courier parcel shop to send a return, it turns out to actually be quite nearby so that's good to know.  Ordered some more clothes from the same place (dunno why as didn't keep the last lot!) and fortunately checked the discount club website... I wasn't going to renew but turns out it's only £2.50 per year and saves an extra 10% so even one purchase will cover it.
Various bits of tidying and admin done, feel like I made progress so that's good.

A few more bits of plodding today.
Finally got the vet treatment refund which should be coming through shortly.  Still don't have the compensation payment or death from illness payment from the insurance company - sigh - so that will need chasing if not through by the end of this week.
A couple of deliveries tomorrow and have ordered more clothes online.  I kind of wish I could have a wander round the shops but I don't feel like going into the city... so am experimenting on the assumption most of it will go back.
A friend is coming to stay a few weeks so that is a bit more motivation to get things sorted.

Well, I have a statement confirming that the van loan is paid off.  And having noticed that at the start of this year, the interest was £4.50 a month, I've just found a loan calculator to get the total interest paid.  It's been costing me an average of £9 a month in interest alone for the whole four years of the loan period.  And that was with a low rate that's about as good as rates have ever been.
Which is a sobering thought.  Not that there weren't reasons I got it at the time, but if I ever consider a loan again, I'm going to try working it out that way.  It sounds so much more to find than the total years in the future.

In other moneysaving news, I've been offered a 0% balance transfer on the card I don't use.  I did consider moving the house stuff loan onto that and paying it off over a longer period, instead of just getting rid of it all next month, but there's a 4% fee so not worth the additional cost.
Professional membership stuff sorted tonight, fortunately not going up.
And have been faffing in the garden a bit, wondering what I can do myself and what I really need to pay for and when.

Sunday shuffling... hope everybody's had a good weekend  :)
Over budget but not really concerned as there's spare in this month's paycheque.  I may worry more if I spend loads when my friend's here but tbh I doubt that will happen and if it does it will be on really good food!  I've bought quite a few bits for trying out some stuff from the Becky Excell cookbook so that's been extra to the usual shopping budget.  And have also ordered the 'Baked To Perfection' one... now that other stuff is getting sorted, hopefully I can find more time to cook.
Cheeky letter from the loan company complaining that I cancelled my direct debit... that would be because I don't owe you money any more woop woop and two fingers - ignoring it!
Didn't get anywhere near as much practical stuff done as I wanted this week, but did have lots of sleep, lots of good chats with friends, and a bit of 'processing' time to just let difficult stuff flow on.  A bit of decluttering has been done and plans are beginning to come together for some time away.
No news on the mortgage yet, was asked for a bit of extra info which has all been sent so just waiting to hear now.
Oh and robot hoover is being returned - it only speaks to me in what I assume is Russian and refuses to connect to the app that's supposed to control it.  Neither Az support nor the product line could help so back it goes after wasting an annoying amount of my time.

Ooh just realised I can wipe the van loan off my signature!  [disappears to edit profile]

    Thanks for the linky!

Disappointing about your robot hoover. Since having our Ukrainian family we've found that junior dog understands Russian much better than English.

    Small ploddings...
    • Letter from conveyancing solicitor received - they seem to think I have a mortgage offer, even though neither I nor the broker have been told yet, so fingers crossed
    • Return parcels posted
    • A little decluttering - craft stuff hopefully all now in one box, gift bags/boxes/ribbons in another - that needs still clearing out as realistically I won't reuse all of them.  Planning to keep a few and put the rest in the charity box. Keyrings rounded up into a box in a drawer.
    • Tried to pay invoices and found the online system won't let me - emailed company to hopefully get it sorted.
    • Checked credit reports.  MSE one is fine.  Second one told me I have got too close to my credit limit because they think the usage on my 0% card is too high, while apparently ignoring the fact that according to MSE I'm at 20% of my total credit limit.  Third one told me I should look at how I could save from current credit card - the 0% one.  Massive eyeroll and words that forum will replace with asterisks.
    • Really, really cheesed off to find that the 0% for a year house stuff deal company is not wrongly only telling ME that I owe them interest for the first year when I don't yet, but also reporting it to credit report companies.  It's literally almost double the amount - surprised I haven't noticed before, or maybe I did and grumbled and left it.  Anyway, today I am so annoyed that I've sent a fiver test payment and am now intending to clear the whole blasted thing asap.  The money is sitting in its budget line, I was just waiting as I thought I might as well have the benefit of it being in my account til next month.  Changed my mind, want rid of it asap and never going near those deals again!  The test payment seems to have worked ok but hasn't updated the balance yet, so hopefully I can sort it tomorrow.
    • Ordered a pair of earrings I love to replace one I lost last summer.  I was hoping to find it somewhere in the bedroom or clothes bags but must have lost it outside.  Hardly huge spending, they are only £7!
    • Ordered two more dresses to try - also need to go through summer stuff properly, but the weather here has been really variable so
    • Haven't had takeaway in two months now, having given up on all the local ones.  And I have a nerve wracking meeting next week, so decided this justifies treating myself to some super expensive gluten free pastries that are recommended on the Becky Excell fb group.  They had better be good at those prices... then again I haven't had real pastry in a decade so probably can't really tell if they are realistic any more!

Grrrrr... tried to pay off rest of 0% finance today, but it won't let me view my account online now, there is no answer on the phone service, and they take 5 days to respond to emails!  Oh how surprising, I wonder if that has any relevance to being a massively overpriced service with time critical deadlines?
Thinking I will send another test payment by bank transfer, then if I can confirm that works, I can transfer the rest.
