I used to do mine, then leave it to brew for a few days before then checking through again and submitting. Means you have the chance to add in anything you forget!
That is very sensible, and I could actually do that when submitting early instead of just before the late penalty... :D

I have managed to amend the tax return post submission! and that will hopefully be a very welcome extra £100, so well worth the ten minutes of clicking.
Also proved to myself that storecard apps are worth having after saving a couple of quid on something needed in BKew and a fiver in Markses.  Certainly worth the five minutes apiece to fill in and download.

Well done! Do you know I had a feeling that it was possible to amend it after submitting but I wasn’t sure I wasn’t misremembering! It’s been a few years since I last did one!

I went looking to check up on when the refund would come through and it showed up with the option to amend, so I did!

Just discovered I can now get deliveries from another supermarket that I couldn't get to for ages... so have made use of £15 in vouchers that's been hanging around and have a delivery coming this week  :)
I considered getting their points credit card again but after checking, realised that this supermarket also gets me 3% cashback on the prepaid card... so have gone with that instead.  Cash is more useful than vouchers!
That's about £25 of benefits in the last 2 shops, just from using storecard offers, previous points vouchers and a cashback debit card.  small things add up!

More small things, just tracking here to remind myself that plodding works.
Credit reports checked, all looks ok.  And has confirmed that I think the mortgage will just about scrape into a lower LTV percentage by the time it's renewed.  Not long to go before I can call the broker and try to lock in a fixed rate before that goes up too.  There's already nothing cheaper than my current deal on the MSE mortgage finder, and I thought that was bad as it was in lockdown and seemed high compared to the last one.
Feeling rather grateful that my situation is so far still pretty steady.  It would be much more stressful if I had stayed in my old job and house, as I'd have an uncertain job situation and much higher bills as well as mortgage.  I want to have a think through what I can do to help elsewhere, once I've got the house a bit more sorted (which should happen in the next couple of weeks).

The direct import link on YNAB is down and I have no idea how I ever had the patience to enter all my transactions manually :D
Must remember this next time I grumble at the cost of the software!

Sunday catch up, not much shuffling to be done!  Had a lovely afternoon out with a friend, a dog walk, and have so far managed to convince myself I don't need fish&chips...
Tax money is showing as pending and includes a second payment for the amended figures, so that's brilliant.  I've put some into the buffer pot, and some aside for house and garden.  All on track at this point so hoping to keep it that way.
Made a complaint about the pet insurance, so hoping that will also finally turn up.  No news on the cashback issue either, which is annoying.  But otherwise everything is pretty much ticking along so nothing to be moaning about.
Must go do a meter reading as am trying to keep that on track at least twice a month.  One more payment on the van, and I paid a big chunk off the 'old' 0% card as there isn't any more work arranged on the house that needs cash so hopefully I can get that cleared soon too.
Oh and YNAB import is working again, phew :D

    Hello Rosa,

Well done on adding your extra tax return information.  Always worth having another look.  You sound like you're still really organised and putting me to shame on your decluttering as I haven't started mine yet.  I still have unpacked boxes in the garage!  Eek!

Do you link your YNAB to your bank account now?  I've not tried that.  I take it you much prefer this to doing it manually? 😃

I am finally getting organised MT - I think you are way ahead of me on the decorating, I just realised that one of the things putting me off painting was the amount of carp I was basically shuffling from room to room, so decided to declutter first!
Yes, I have linked up YNAB for direct import and although I thought it wouldn't make much difference I absolutely love it.  It's much easier to keep track day to day as it's just approving things rather than the data entry of putting in manual transactions, which I did used to put off even thought it was only a couple of minutes.  I figured if I was having to pay for the functionality anyway, I might as well make use of it.  Most of my accounts linked ok so now I only have to manually reconcile with the cashback debit card.
