    Hello Rosa,
Well done on the decluttering.  I also need to start on that and arrange some boot sales too.  I also hadn't thought of having a little car box in the shed for things that I occasionally need in there, but not all the time.

I had a slow cooker years ago and I must admit it was very nice having a decent meal ready for me when I got home.  I only really used it in the winter as I only made comfort style foods in there.

I'm sorry you've had issues with your fridge freezer.  How frustrating to not only need to get that sorted but the loss of food that spoiled.

Anyway, most things sound like they're going well, which is nice to read.

    MTx
    Thanks MT
I used to keep the car stuff in a garden box at the front of the house because it doesn't really need to be indoors, and it meant it was right by the car, rather than having to go through to the back garden shed.  I don't know why it's taken so long for me to think of it at this house.
Fortunately the fridge freezer seems to be fine now and I've kept the thermometers in it so I will know if it has issues again.  I am still highly annoyed about the indicator light thing though, whatever is the point of a light telling me the recommended temperature if there isn't a thermometer to compare it to!
    RB xx

Well, the decluttering has continued well so the understairs area and attic are now about sorted.  I am over budget for the month because I've ordered the last bit of furniture I need for the house in its current shape.  There is space for it after the decluttering and reshuffling, and although it could have waited I figured prices are forecast to go up so I could sort it now and it will help me feel more motivated to keep that room organised.  There is other work I want done on the house and garden, but it can be done bit by bit.
Otherwise not a lot of news... very pleased to see the van loan nearly gone, most other things are doing ok.  Debating whether to close another unused credit card but aware that it would change my usage of available credit proportion by quite a lot, so I don't know whether that looks better or worse on a credit report than having the extra card there empty.  Will have to think about it.

  • I would keep the CC, you know you won't use unless it is dire emergency.

I am impressed by the decluttering :)

I suspect my decluttering is not as impressive as yours, Buffy!  But it's good to get it done.

Dashing by to report small moneysaving thing... finally put the apps for the supermarkets I use onto my phone.  Now that I'm shopping in person again, I'm using the small local one and picking up favourites in the posh one in the next town when I go there, so it makes having any savings that can be made in the process.

If you could see my room right now you would put me in a home!

Ta-daaaahh... I did my tax return!
Which admittedly is probably the best hourly rate I get all year :D but I still hate doing it.

Well done on the tax return - SO much better to just get the wretched thing out of the way early! (Then the bonus smug points when people are in a lather about it in a January, too!)

And you’ve just reminded me to check the Co-op app and select this week’s offers - if I’m clear of the lurgy at the weekend I may wander that way to see what deals there are that may be worth having.

I am one of those people who is normally grumbling about it in January - but it is actually pretty straightforward for me and I thought I'd do it early this year.  I confess I hadn't actually realised you could do it as soon as the tax year you're claiming for ended, so was really pleased to find I can hopefully have money back 9 months earlier!  Though I must remember not to do it late at night again - I've just realised I've under-claimed for something.  Oh well, too late now, and certainly better than not doing it at all.

I used to do mine, then leave it to brew for a few days before then checking through again and submitting. Means you have the chance to add in anything you forget!
