I fear you may end up with two accounts that have to be unravelled.1 -

I will stick to EDF until things are more clear.Do you have any idea when EDF's tariff is applied from - When Zog went bust (i.e 4th Dec) or whatever day my switch to EDF is completed? PS I have already submitted Novembers meter reading Zog around 26th NovemberEDF commenced supply on 4th December. Why 26th Nov ? Zog required meter reads for billing on the last day of the month. It would be a good idea to submit another read for 3rd Dec, the site is still running.Probably not, it seems that the gaining provider (EDF) will send the customer's reading to The Mysterious Third Party (who may dream up a different reading, despite photographic or smart meter evidence) and this is then sent to the losing supplier (Zog). At least that's the case with a switch, perhaps it's different with a SoLR?So at least in theory there's a risk that one uses your reading, one uses a tweaked reading, and you pay twice for the variance.
If the date of the takeover is known try taking a photo of the meters as close to midnight on the last day then you have the evidence that their figures are incorrect. As the bill won't be billed on the takeover of the supply date take photo's every day or every week, daily makes a more accurate record, of the figures on the meter and make sure the meter reference number is shown on every photo, they cannot argue with that, it would take an expert at image manipulation to do that and that is way beyond what most people are capable of.Someone please tell me what money is0 -

I have also just signed up for an account using my Zog e-mail address. It came up with all my details, including my gas account number. When I looked at the contact preferences, it defaulted to receiving all information by post, which I've now changed to e-mail. It may actually be worth signing up and changing your preferences to e-mail to speed things up, otherwise your welcome letter and meter reading reminder may be caught up in the Christmas post!

Signed up for EDF account successfully - no date yet for formal completion and Zog still listed as my supplier. Couldn't see the details of the Welcome tariff in myaccount yet.0

I fear you may end up with two accounts that have to be unravelled. No, EDF have the Zog info including the email address (but not the DD info) so there's only one account. The billing defaults to Cash/Cheque which is significantly more expensive, but it was eventually confirmed during a long webchat that the overcharging will be refunded after the welcome letter has been sent and the DD has been set up.EDF offer Variable Direct Debit which should make billing far easier to understand and avoid the problems of credit building up.
It is possible to change online, which I'm assured is backdated.... but I'd advise everyone to check...

Years later...
Anyone else received a letter post closure in 2022 with a new "final bill" from ZOG, not using the reading supplied but a higher estimated bill and wanting payment? in my case around £11 which someone is still chasing years later...
Just wondering if it was a widespread "scrape a little per customer" scam - they turned around and sold the debt book to a collection agency so adding a bit certainly would have added to what the adminstrators can pocket.0 -
Life seemed simpler when ZOG supplied the gas.0
