    Another overpayment for #90 for December is £80.50 which brings it to a total for December £1079.50 and total for 2022 £13000! I simply couldn't stand that I'm only £80.50 away from a round number :D

    Mortgage of £105k for 25 years taken out in 2016.

    After many overpayments I'm now at: Outstanding £41,840 with 8 yrs 11 months remaining.

    I still can overpay another 1k this year but if I keep going at this rate then I think I will have paid off my mortgage entirely by sometime in 2026 which would be awesome.
    Great stuff! Maybe join us for the challenge for 2023? :)

    At the end of 2022 my Mortgage Neutral (MN) pot was £69.8K and my mortgage balance was £69.8K.  Giving a deficit/net-debt of £0K.

    My MFW OP total for 2022 was £37.9K (gross pension contributions and investment returns)

  • #95 reporting with £2k for December. Apologies for not keeping the posts updated as I should have done on the forum I believe that I have surpassed and exceeded my target - I think I had a very fortunate year, with stable income and not many unexpected big emergency outgoing.

    Reading the forum and peoples diaries has been great motivation and huge congratulations to those who became mortgage free! Cant wait to continue the journey next year.

  • #79 reporting with £446.54 for December. Had to stretch a little to get it to a round number for January :)

    That makes a total overpayment of £2855.39 in 2022. I've smashed my orginal target and taken nearly 4 months off my mortgage! Thank you so much for running this thread @julicorn

    No 70 reporting a final OP of £100 taking the month to £380.  This means my mortgage will be under £72k at the end of the year.

    #6 reporting - I OP'd £50 in November and £100 in December. So still a way off my target unfortunately. However, I've prioritised savings over OP's so we are in a much healthier position there and I had to spend 1K on fixing my car last month. Sigh.   
    Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
    % of house owned/% of mortgage paid off. July 25 - 38.82%/31.66%
