  • #98 I still have an OP to make in December but it won't necessarily be captured in time for this thread. So I've currently overpaid by £600 in December which means that I have actually beat my goal already!

(Have plans to add another 250 to make it £850 for the month! But not completed this payment yet...)

Hi all, I've updated the spreadsheet just now - well done on your progress, whether you're on track to hit your goal this year or not. Remember, every little helps!

If you've found this challenge helpful and motivating, then please join us again for the 2023 MFW :) It would be great to have you all on board again. Please comment in the 2023 thread for anything to do with next year's challenge (e.g. if you want to keep your number), it gets a bit tricky to keep track of things otherwise.
Thats great, thanks again for the work you put into the running of the challenge, will see you on the new thread!!

  • I know this is last minute/eleventh hour and I have been missing most of this year, but have all of a sudden made £5,000 to set against overpayments.  (I hope this is okay because we have decided to put it into a fixed rate saver which is a better rate than our mortgage - its a bit of a debate but we think its for the best):

  • Mortgage of £105k for 25 years taken out in 2016.

After many overpayments I'm now at: Outstanding £41,840 with 8 yrs 11 months remaining.

I still can overpay another 1k this year but if I keep going at this rate then I think I will have paid off my mortgage entirely by sometime in 2026 which would be awesome.
  • Final post to say that I have made my final payment for the year #98 for a December total of £850! This has been awesome challenge to keep me focused. See you in the 2023 thread!

#33 December and final update. £1800.98

thanks for updating. We’ve stormed on this year, spurred on for need for me to be part time soon and rising interest rates. Hoping to have mortgage paid off April 2023. Only 28950 to go and savings to pay of part in April this year when fix ends leaving tracker for remaining.

will join again next year and hope we can smash it.

    thanks

#86 here. Sorry I went AWOL after April! I went back to work after mat leave and was exhausted/ill most of the time! Am actually still ill now too lol.

I started to reduce the OP's in favour of savings when the economy started to go to rubbish so I won't have met my target, but my updates for the remaining months are as follows. Sorry there are so many :expressionless: :

    May - £760
    June/July/August - £0
    September - £111.62
    October - £270.66
    November - £344.93
December - TBC at end of month

    Thanks Julicorn :)
