  • I've finally managed it, I'm below the half way mark on my mortgage of 105k. I'm down to 52450 capital left to pay over 11yrs 3 months. I was hoping to put the full 10,500 overpayment I can later this year, but unfortunately the conditions of the windows in my house are so bad that I had no choice but to replace them next month.

    I have manged to cut my mortgage in half in just under 6 years with overpayments of £32,000. This is when I think back and realise I made the right choice by not extending the house and overpaying.

  • Hi Julicorn.

    #76 here. It's been a long year so far, much has gone on and I never posted the overpayment's I made in March, April, May and so on.

    I have now cleared the mortgage through some inheritance that came through, I never posted this a couple of weeks ago as I didn't quite believe it happened till I got a letter from the mortgage provider till yesterday saying the account is now closed and they paid me £5.31 that they owed.

    So could you put a September payment amount of £70,298 down for me please, although I feel I have cheated a bit because of the inheritance.
    Good to see what your doing still and keep up the good work, the same for everyone else paying down.
  • Despite my intent on keeping updates in place, I failed....

    So a delayed report for

    August = £2850
    Sep = £5250
    Oct (standing order ready to go on 1st) = £1256

    Pushing towards the 10% OP allowance for the year to somehow keep on top of the horrors of the interest rates.
