My January overpayment was £55.65 of tidies.

I hit my savings target for the month, but am having second thoughts on rushing to pay off the mortgage.  Perhaps I should use the money on home improvements instead as the mortgage is so low now.  Perhaps I should wait and see how my employer's latest mid-life crisis plays out or how I will be affected by the cost of living rises.  Going to play it safe for now and put the savings into another account while I think about it.

Thanks for the updating, Julicorn  :)

  • Good evening all,

@julicorn - I recognise that I'm a tad late to the party, but can I please join again  this year?

My OP situation is interesting as I today applied for my remortgage which should begin in April. Saying that,  I need to pay off approx £12k for the new mortgage. All of this without relying on sale of my BTL, which is giving me a few grey hairs.

Therefore, for fairness of 2022 target, can you please put me for £8,000 OP target and I will only count against payments made on the new mortgage.

Manu thanks, apologies for the late entry and good luck everyone!

  • I received a big tax rebate in the post this afternoon so I've overpaid an extra £500 into the mortgage now.
That's £740 so far for February now already. ☺️

  • Hey all nice to see us all doing so well. For February I've managed £135, less than I planned but better than nothing I suppose.

Hi @julicorn.  I'm a bit late to the party but I would love to join the challenge if I can.  I recently decided to start really concentrating on overpaying my mortgage over the next couple of years  and I think the motivation and support from everyone else will really help.

Happy with any spare number.  My target for 2022 is £6,000.  My overpayments so far are:

    January - £300
    February (so far) - £386

Thanks and good luck everyone   B)
