  • #59 here!
We've currently kicked off our mortgage application for a three year mortgage. Our broker has told us not to overpay anymore though as all that will happen is in April when the mortgage begins we'll just get a cheque back for the amount over £102,000 (which I'm rather annoyed about TBH as this wasn't mentioned before and the total money I've overpaid/will have paid on regular payments by April will total a large chunk of all we're allowed to OP on the new mortgage in the first year.)

So, new plan. I'm going to 'overpay' what I would usually overpay off the mortgage into my Premium Bonds instead in the hope that we win big! Then use that money to pay the rest of the mortgage off in full at the end of the three years all being well. 🤞🏻

So, another £200 down for January - £1240 tucked away for the month now.
Original mortgage total: £140,000.00 (July 2015) Original mortgage end date: June 2040
Mortgage free start date: 16th October 2018 Mortgage total at this point: £132,829.12
Current mortgage total: £54,762.71 Current mortgage end date: June 2032 Daily interest: £7.59 > £2.64
