Playing catch up now as I've had a busy few days treating the other half!
27/03: PAD of £1.00 to CC1
28/03: £1,230 to CC1
In summary I am way ahead of my original goal of September 2024, with a projected and very likely debt free date of 27th June 2023. Those following will know I used a money transfer to clear my Hire Purchase balance and I continue to track those debts as though they were separate (although it is now one balance on CC1), those balances would now be:
CC1: £1,000 remaining
HP Loan: £4,252 remaining
Using the Money Transfer did save me some money in interest (Although not a huge amount, any money saved is a win when playing this game!), and had I left those debts alone I would be officially credit card free at the end of April, so I'm looking forward to checking that one off the list and getting through the last few months of being in debt!
Whilst this is great progress, my daily life is still being controlled by my finances and this does take a mental toll, to keep things short I just cannot wait to have this debt off my shoulders and cannot wait to be "free" at last!
Debt Remaining: £6,483.00 £5,252.00

That overall debt figure is coming down nicely! Debts and mental health are intrinsically linked and I too am looking forward to that sense of relief!Life gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017Sealed pot 2025 £5678 | EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3188/£6000 | Travel savings £1924 | Sinking pots £21260

Going to close March with a round down PAD of £7.50 to CC1, bringing the overall balance to a fairly nice £5,240.
I won't be able to commit to daily PAD's in April, although April will be more of a focus on my physical health and wellbeing just as much as my financial health.
In the past 10/11 months I've lost 70lbs which is around 5 stone, bringing myself into a healthy BMI. I've recently undergone a bit of a transition in my nutrition to try and put on some more lean body mass and stop losing weight (An oddly tough transition?). Now that I'm in a slight caloric surplus, what better way to complement that than to QUIT SMOKING (Well, I actually just vape now, but I'll treat this the same).
In short - I smoked for 5/6 years, and vaped for over 10. Quitting was well overdue, although I would argue that these nicotine delivery devices from hell are probably worse than smoking cigarettes, there's no going outside or lighting up, just a straight delivery of nicotine propelled into the lungs, no matter where you are, be it in bed, in work, in the office toilet perhaps, without the need to wander from where you're sitting! No, these things are bad. It's time to quit.
Rewind a week, I actually iterated to someone that I had no intention to quit and nor do I want to quit as I quite like the social aspect of it, however for some reason on the 29th March during the evening, I decided to sack it off. Not one puff has been had since 22:00 on 29/03/23, so any withdrawal symptoms would peak on day 3 (tomorrow), let's see how this goes, as it stands this is the longest I've been without nicotine in at least the last 14 years.£30,022.05 debt - Completed it mate! Wow, congratulations and good luck on keeping it up. I agree with the social bit, I am a non-smoker, but I think all my smoking friends get to chat more outside the very noisy pubs I go to. I don't intend to take it up though to socialise more lol.1
