Thank you both for the thoughtful replies. I know I've been quite set back and short with my updates as of late, truth be told is that I'm likely done with my PAD-ing now for April, with a birthday week ahead and likely further update to come around the end of the month when I get paid. (In other words, I'm skint!)
I'm three weeks clean of Nicotine today, completely cold-turkey with no substitutes, to say my emotions have been up and down is an understatement. I'm just about staying on the straight and narrow, found myself almost depending on a switch bonus from RBS is less than ideal, although I'm still on track for a DFD at the end of June.
Thank you all again for your continued support, it really helps. As you say northAthenian, other people including family aren't massively supportive or understanding, whilst for people in this situation it is a huge ordeal that will make such a huge change in their quality of life, others don't see the struggle that is, or once was. I will be celebrating clearing over £30,000 worth of debt and I absolutely can not wait.£30,022.05 debt - Completed it mate! Debt Free 27th June 2023 | Diary

No update today, but thought I'd have a look through some historic spreadsheets.
20th April 2023: £5,080 of debt remains.
20th April 2019: Was in £27,605.20 worth of debt, thought I had this in hand at the time, silly me! Nice to be in a much better position now, but will be better to zero that figure!

It definitely helps to put things into perspective when you look back.Life gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017Sealed pot 2025 £5678 | EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3188/£6000 | Travel savings £1924 | Sinking pots £21260 -
Good evening all,
payday update time!
I'm paying in a little more than usual and I've utilised one of my pots for some of the money used, and the reason for this is the original credit card debt would now be CLEAR!, leaving only the Hire Purchase debt of £3,610 remaining.
Original CC: Was £1,000, now £0.
Hire Purchase: Was £4,080, now £3,610.
Total: Was £5,080, now £3,610. (£1,470 paid off today!)
Those following will know I used a money transfer to get the Hire Purchase paid off so the balance has been sitting as one on a credit card for a while, this little stunt saved me a little bit in interest and keeping the payments simple as they are going onto the one card, although I continue to track the debts as though they were separate.
Therefore I'm happy to announce the mini-milestone of paying off my original credit card balance, leaving only the debt for my car which should be paid off in June (all being well).£30,022.05 debt - Completed it mate! Debt Free 27th June 2023 | Diary

Today is officially 60 days until I'm debt free (projected!).
Going to start a little PAD tradition, take that number and make a PAD of £6.00 today to CC1.£30,022.05 debt - Completed it mate! Debt Free 27th June 2023 | Diary
