I might sound dumb but I have read so many different things and claim cases on here that I am genuinely confused.

I thought I had to wait for a questionnaire from the county court and then wait for a date

That was four weeks ago. The expectation was that you would use some of that four weeks to write and file a Defence.

29th December was yesterday.

Your Defence should've been filed before 4pm yesterday.

Since 4pm yesterday the Claimant has been free to seek a Default Judgment against you.

You are now in a race.
If the Claimant seeks a Default Judgment before a Defence is filed, then it's game over - you lose.

On the other hand, if you file a Defence before the Claimant wakes up then you win this heat and go through to the next round.

Suggest you now file a Defence PDQ.
The good news is that nothing untoward will happen before 8am tomorrow.

Sounds like you have done nothing since emailing the SAR , despite our clear advice , especially by KeithP

Check your MCOL claim history , it's probably stuck on AOS received , so far

It takes most posters no more than half an hour to adapt the template defence KeithP pointed you to, a month ago. He told you how to do it and who to email it to.  This is easy and can be done. electronically signed, dated and emailed tonight.

Unfortunately the OP will be unable to do that - he/she doesn't have a working MCOL password.

I haven't read back , but far too many errors causing problems

So a quick Defence email may rescue it , before tomorrow morning , before 0905 am 👍
