I'm like kunekune and larger than the average bear
Used to shop in Evans, but the last few times I've been in there I've not seen anything I like apart from shoesSo, most of my shopping is now done in TX Maxx, especially the clearance rails. They have a surprisingly good range of stuff for the larger lady, but be prepared to have a rummage. I've got loads of their Eco-log-ie white cotton shirts which are great in summer on their own and in winter with a cardi or jacket.
Other than that, I occasionally get bits in Tesco and Asda and I find that Matalan's tee-shirts are great for under a cardi at work.0 -
We visit a shopping outlet at Portsmouth once a year and get mostly what we need there. Designer shops but cheap prices. To repeat what others have said, requires education, to challenge it,requires brains!FEB GC/DIESEL £200/4 WEEKS0

I used to buy mainly at charity shops, but the prices in there have increased so much that they match the clothes of 1 particular clothes store if they do a good sale. They tend to have a day where it's a further 20-30% off sale prices, and that's when I buy an "annual" shop. This year hubby took me there at that time, and for my Xmas pressie I got jeans, 2 pairs of trousers and about 6 tops.... all for about 40 pounds. I don't normally get so much each year, but this year I dropped 2 dress sizes (not even deliberately) so needed pants that would stay up! I get pj's there also when they're reduced to about 6 pounds a set.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070

charity shops - i'm lucky in that there are loads and some are in posh areas. I find the small local charitys cheaper although you have to rummage more. I will buy new in massive sales but honestly tend to get baffled and confused in real shops. Primark for underwear and basicsI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080

Charity shops for me. Within a ten mile radius of my home, in various villages, I probably have over twenty shops to choose from, most of them very reasonably priced. My favourite is the Vitalise shop, five minutes walk away, which sells all adult clothes for £1 and children's for 50p. We have another one further away that sells everything for £1, so, even if you don't have much money to spare, you can pick something up. Like Stef, I don't like real shops! Or spending real money! Peacocks and Primark for undies, but that's it.KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

Charity shops. A few have half price sales this week too
Sometimes Sainsbugs or Tesco and occasionally primark.
If I want something specific then usually have a look on ebay.
I have 2 sisters and lots of cousins - clothes would always be passed back and forth through the family so don't have any pre-worn clothes issues, thankfully - I just wash everything before I wear it - obviously
However it also helps that I no longer work near debenhams or dorothy perkins and have step kids at weekends so it's not worth dragging the boys into town for clothes shops either :rolleyes:working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Mixture but a lot from charity shops. I also like the fact that when I buy from there it's "recycling"!! I do buy from high street sometimes and like another poster I have to buy smart for work, but that's usually from Tesco! (I like their clothes).0

I buy mainly from Tesco and Asda (and occasionally the high street, my sister gave me vouchers for Xmas :j ) I've also started looking in our local charity shops now I have the time (mid morning seems to be the time to pop in cos thats when they restock
I don't tend to buy much though because I'm trying to use up what I've got before getting more.

Charity shops for me have gone right out the window - the 'big names' have almost normal prices for used clothes, like someone said, even bad condition clothes. Theres only one near me that is properly cheap, but generally tat shops are better for buying glasses or books than clothes.
I dont like real shops, and there arent any for miles around anyway!''A moment's thinking is an hour in words.'' -Thomas Hood0
