Just popping by wishing you well with your journey, a friend of ours looked after children but found it a bit too challenging.  We are worrying about putting up our tree as our puppy might just jump in it.  Will be reading along from the shadows, good luck

    Thanks @Its_time

Morning all, it's a working day today and my Looked after Person will be here soon. The weather is absolutely pants but it might clear up enough for a short walk later. If not, we can go for a drive.

I had my knee injected yesterday. It's a bit achy today but it's stopped making ominous noises and giving way so all good. NSD today hopefully as long as nobody has discovered anything that they need urgently by the time that I drop LaP off later.

Yesterday I made some pineapple upside down cakes. One for HT's partner to take home to their mum and one for HT's partner and I to eat here, I haven't made one of those since I was at school about 40 years ago. The HT made one at school too but that was about 5 years ago. It was good to do some baking again. It's sort of fallen by the wayside for the last couple of months.

Lunch for 4 people today (toasties) and dinner for three. The teens are having pizza this evening and I will liberate something from the freezer. I have hash browns and sausages, I could maybe do a mini cooked breakfast.

    Have a good day 😊

    Good morning all,

I have a "to do" list as long as my arm today but I worked all day yesterday and it's Sunday so I gave myself a few hours off this morning. My knee is still sore and my back has joined in but if I do my usual work, rest, work, rest thing I should get everything done. None of the jobs on the list involves spending money so all good.

Lunch for three today (home made meatball subs for them, houmous and pitta bread for me). Dinner is also for three, pork chops, chips, veg and gravy - I try not to make roast dinners in December so that Christmas dinner is more of a treat instead of just a larger than usual Sunday dinner.

Tomorrow starts the first week of my new grocery budget. The only urgent thing will be bread because the joy of teens in the house means that there isn't much left. I'm going to keep track of food spending on here because it's my biggest downfall. Should be good for a laugh, especially at this time of year.....

    Take care everyone 😊

Downstairs is now clean and ready for the Christmas tree. It would appear that a steroid injection is just as good for giving the energy to clean as taking steroid pills. I have asthma and needing to take steroids is always also marked by an increase in cleaning energy and ability. It's usually noted for an increase in bad temper too so I might need to keep an eye on that for the next couple of days.

The cat's bed has been moved out of her usual corner to make way for the tree but as she's now next to the radiator I can't see her minding. I may leave her bed there and move one of the tables into that corner once the tree goes away again. She's getting on a bit in years now so warm is good - she does have a heated mat which is on all year round too. It was cheaper than getting another cat to keep her company and she likes it more than she ever liked her sister sadly.

Just having a 10 minute sit down and a cuppa before I go and supervise the teens freeing the said tree from the back of the cupboard of doom in the spare room.

Steroids are fab in the short term, they did wonders for Mr SA’s swelling in the brain when he had the tumour and also for my infected eczema.

    Good evening,

The HT's partner helped me to put the tree up yesterday. I would probably have given up if I'd been on my own but it's up now. I need to put the lights up around the big front window but I want to clean the window first so that might be a job for tomorrow morning.

I've done most of the grocery shopping - £55 spent leaving £25 for a top up shop on Thursday (probably more bread, some fruit and some other fresh bits). Two people for lunch today and three for dinner.

It should have been the HT's parents evening tonight but his personal tutor has been off sick and is working reduced hours so he's going to do it by zoom next week. Suits me fine, the weather is vile and once I have dropped my LAP to his parents I can come home instead of having to go into town. I need to pick up a pint of milk on the way for best friend who now lives 5 minutes up the road but who has no car this week. I picked up eggs for him in the grocery shop but mysteriously @sda didn't have any one pint milk containers.

    Take care all 😊

Welcome back! It's always best to restructure and do a little rethink when life gets in the way. And to be fair despite all that's happened you continued with your goal to push the debt downward. So no pressure there, you're doing great. :star:

Thanks @anjyeah. I'm not sure how much longer I have my current job for or if I'll be able to find another job afterwards Although I'm relatively young I have Ehlers Danlos syndrome so I'n in a lot of pain most days and now I'm waiting to see a consultant about a knee replacement just to complicate things. The change was to make sure that I could keep up normal repayments if we have to manage without my wages. I'm also trying to have a few necessary jobs done on the house while I can. Thank you very much for your support 🧡
