Has anyone ever applied to change their house number from 13 to 12A etc?

I live in a semi-detached bungalow and we are no 3. The adjoining semi is no 1. But number 1 is not the first house in the road. Another house was built there later, and is 1a.
Most people get 1 and 1a muddled up, thinking no1 should be first, then 1a.
I wouldn't change your house number.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
My eldest son was born on Friday 13th. A couple of people asked could I not have hung on for another couple of hours for his sake - you may guess my answer!
And oddly enough I knew three other people with the same birthday and they were all born on a Friday too.1 -

There’s no number 13 in our road either. Bloody silly, really, but it costs nothing to omit it.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?1 -
I can’t remember the name of the place now, but there was a programme years ago about swish hotels in London. If you were a dinner party of 13, they laid 14 places and set a teddy bear (called Churchill IIRC) to fill the table.I wouldn’t worry about buying/living at 13. If I saw a house that I loved that was 12a I’d be mentally wondering about changing it before offering.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.2

I took my driving test on the 13th. I had to do it in a strange car, not a good start, but in the half-hour lesson before the test, the different instructor taught me how to reverse neatly - which I'd never been able to do before.0

Don't think the issues have anything to do with the number.1

It might be worth doing just to make the house easier to sell one day.0

The "½" seems a bit silly, but is sufficiently unusual to help reduce the confusion you can get using letters.
Although it doesn't help matters that the front door of the building isn't on Southwark Street.
11½ might make a logical replacement for 13 in the right sequence, but isn't likely to change the owner's luck, and I suspect a lot of organisations use databases that will explode if asked to deal with a non-integer property number.

it was just my Dad's comments made me think about it. He also thinks green cars are bad luck, no idea why.
He did survive a most horrific accident and lived to be 90, but although coming very close, never won the World Championship.
Back to the subject of house numbering, there is probably no scientific evidence that shows living at No. 13 is particularly unlucky. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

The Savoy have Kaspar, a statue of a cat, which sits as the 14th guest when required:
