Dizzy_Imp said:Day 54.
Well, it all kicked off last night. We had dwarves dressed as angels through the drive-through, a whole coach of drunk Welsh Rugby fans descend into the restaurant, a stag party with the stag dressed in red a revealing velour coulott onesie and feather boa, a fire alarm and a drunk bloke breaking into the kitchen upstairs and nearly having a full-on fight with Ryan... Just a standard night at Maccy Ds...
You could write a book Dizzy 😆 Well done on all your progress.

So here I am on Day 56 and absolutely no further forward in clearing my debt. The bills just keep coming in and the money is not enough. I'm scraping together pennies to pay for bread and milk and my credit cards are all maxed out and I just don't know what else I can do.
I'm working 9 hour night shifts, followed by a breakfast club stint for an hour and a half, then small-holding/animal duties for a couple of hours, a quick kip (hopefully undisturbed by phone calls, deliveries or the dogs, 3pm school run, basic housework for two hours, cook dinner and then more housework until it's time to go back out to work at 10pm. I've got nothing of value I can sell, except my car, but that needs a service, MOT and valet before I can do that and I don't have any money to get that sorted. It's impossible to break free from this!1 -
So Day 58 draws to a close and the situation hasn't changed. This is so depressing... 4 days until DH gets paid and I get a small amount for breakfast club duties.0

So sorry to see you struggling, Dizzy. Is it worth looking at a DMP? Might make things a little easier. Sending hugs, mumtoomany.xx

So the 1st of February marks Day 63 of my never-improving situation. Hubby has been paid and transferred a major chunk over to me, I've received my pittance for breakfast club and two of my doggy daycare customers have settled their accounts and somehow I'm still £2200 overdrawn in my bank, with no way of affording anything this month. I'm scared now and having sweats and headaches as I don't know what to do.
My youngest is off school with Covid, which means I have to be awake during the day to look after him, and, being on a zero hours contract, Maccy Ds don't have to offer me any alternative hours (none are available anyway) , therefore I'll get no pay for this week. However, everyone still needs feeding (animals included) and I have no money. At. All.

That sounds so tough dizzy. Are you sure this isn’t the time to look at a DMP or some kind of help? Losing sleep over it is hard. Is the od yours alone and is your OH in a better situation? Possibly opening another bank account to manage his money to you and paying a portion off the od each month would work better? Could you speak to the bank and explain you are in difficulty so they could freeze the interest? If you did that then another account would be essential as I expect they would reduce the limit each time you paid some off. Lots to think about, but I’m sure there must be a way to make this better, even talking it through with a debt charity might help you come up with a plan. Any step feels impossible, but once you’ve talked through your options you may find there’s a safe way to proceed where you can sleep better. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I definitely recommend speaking to someone re DMP, even if you don't go for it in the end, they will at least be able to suggest ideas that you can try. It is horrible thinking like you are treading water and sinking, when you are doing a lot and working all hours just to stay afloat. Losing sleep over money is not going to help. Keep going, keep coming on here for support and try to ask someone for advice. Have you looked to see if you are entitled to any benefits that you might not be getting? I'm sure you will get thereMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

So....I am lying in bed, feeling like I'm dying from Covid. Tiny has passed it to me and Small, but hubby still remains negative. I'm struggling to breathe a little and the coughing and headache is really grim. My ears hurt inside and I sound like a man as my voice has been affected. So Day 68 sees little progress on the debt reducing journey.
I have applied for the assistance grant as I'm not able to work and according to my luck, the Welsh government have reduced this down by £250 at the beginning of February.
DH has been offered a new job this weekend, with a big payrise and good perks, working for someone he knows, who may also be interested in asking me to do some office admin for his company. This is excellent news, but DH won't be able to start there until the new tax year, otherwise he will forfeit his bonus, which is paid at the end of March. So there is a flickering candle at the end of the tunnel...we just have to keep plodding on until then.
Thank you to those of you who read and comment on my diary. Your suggestions and support are very much appreciated. I've looked into a DMP or an IVA, but I really don't want to wreck my credit. Tomorrow will bring new challenges but I'm not sure I'm up to battling them. We shall see.1
