Debt in Dizzyland

Right! I'm back! Still not straight from the flood, but ready to start my debt-busting journey again.
So today is Day 1 (version 2.0). I plan for it to be a non-spend day. I have food in the cupboards and lots to do in the house, so no excuse to pop to the shops. I will, instead plan and cost the new kitchen units, which we have finally been given an offer for by the insurance company.
Have restarted my penny challenge as I had to raid the last tin, which amazingly had over £175 in it. Hubby is away scuba diving so it's just me, the boys and all the animals. Hopefully it will be a calm day with no dramas...we shall see!1 -

1st August is Day 5. It is also the first anniversary of my mum's death. I sent Dad some flowers and he rang in tears this morning, which has put me out of sorts all day. Consequently, not much achieved, which was also not helped by a broken night of sleep. I sold some items on Vinted, so parcelled those up and sent them on their way. Now to wait for the payments.
Teriyaki chicken roasting in the oven and we will have it with salad and rice a little later. Tesco delivery came yesterday and for about £62, I reckon I got enough food to last us for 10 days, if I stick to my meal plan. Cooking everything from scratch, which takes more time, but does seem to save me money. I think I'll cook a lasagne tomorrow and turn one half of the minced beef into a chilli con carne for later in the week. Got fresh garlic from the garden and dried yeast and flour in the pantry, so I can make my own garlic bread to have with the meal. That will very much please all my boys!
Then, after dinner tonight, it's up to the shop for a few hours sorting and marking up some new pieces that have been dropped off - might take a couple of gins in tins with me to share with Lou.
