  • Ah so sweet. Mine is a fat old Labrador and I can’t even jog on the spot without her leaping at me (she’s probably frightened I’ll start an earthquake 🤣)

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas.

I had such a lovely time and covid made the numbers small but it was a lot less stressful. I got some lovely presents and will enjoy today and tomorrow’s holidays before I’m back to work on Wednesday.

I’m going on holiday for 2 weeks on Monday and have to have a covid test on New Years Day. I haven’t allowed myself to get excited because of Covid but it now looks like I’m getting to go . I’m staying with family
so I have only the costs of eating out/trips etc to budget for but will attempt to stick with my budget rather than thinking ‘Sod it, I’m on holiday 😂.

I think my belly is ready for some gentle nutrition  - made leek and potato soup for lunch and Jamie Oliver’s veg allotment pie for tea tonight. Still have cheesecake leftover from Xmas so it would be rude not to 😂

So thinking ahead to 2022 which is going to be my year of needs not wants. I’m following the 2022 No spend challenge on Facebook and I’ve all money pulled from the bank and in my cash envelopes.

Ok - spends today - it is my sister’s b’day next week so bought her a pressie today. Hopefully I will manage an NSD on Wed and Thursday. Tomorrow I’m back in work for 2 days and then I’m on 2 weeks leave.

On Friday my other sister is picking up a chippy, so that is New Years Eve sorted 😂.

    Morning all,

I managed 1 more NSD so I’m at 12/15 but I don’t think I’ll catch 1 today. I’m looking for Xmas gift bags today because I got them this time last year for 25p and I’m also going to the charity shop for a couple of books to take on holiday with me. I use my kindle but sometimes a proper book on the beach is bliss.

so it’s New Years Eve and it’s going to be a quiet one with mum and sister’s family. I finished work yesterday for 2 weeks and am looking forward to going on holiday next week (assuming I have a negative pcr this weekend).

plans for 2022 - I don’t do new year resolutions because that is setting me up for failure.  I’m currently training for a marathon in March - I’m so slow with recurring injuries but I’m taking it super easy because I want to raise money for the hospital that helped my family this year and my aim is to make it round in 1 piece.

I’m also planning a low spend year but my main aim will be to use up everything before I replace. I’m going to try and keep track of everything I replace in a notebook.  I’m not doing a complete no buy year because that guarantees I will faceplant into a pile of frittering tat in the first few days.

    happy New Year everyone 🥳🍾

    Morning all

I got away on holiday 🏖 and it was bliss - thank goodness boris changed the pcr rule before I came back - 1 less complication.  I’m already saving up to go again next year.

spending - I’m hoping for a super low spend year but so far I’ve had to buy a new hoover this week. My old one died before Xmas and my temporary fix of masking tape wasn’t up to the job. I have also ordered a new sports bra which in my book is a necessity but I ordered a dress and cardigan in sales that I don’t need and are both going back. So easy to spend on things I can argue I really need. In total a new hoover and bra isn’t bad going for me for January.  will rejoin NSD challenge next month to keep on the straight and narrow.

Marathon training - going ok. I ran 14 miles y’day but I’m doing a run/walk programme and felt great until I hit mile 13 … I have a few aches from my holiday when we decided to climb a mountain and hopefully they will settle down soon. Next weekend is another 14 and then up to 16 - bit scary. I spoke to the charity I’m running for and they are sending me a running vest this week - starting to become very real

so plans this week - physio appt, taking pup to get groomed and catching up on a lot of work. It’s finally pay day this Thursday 😊. Good luck all.
  • Welcome back. I’m glad you had a good holiday.
