Munchin’s intentionally living with less diary

Hi @Munchin - I'm following your diary with lots of interest because I'm working towards being debt free in early 2022, but VERY worried about slipping back into bad habits. I'm so impressed with your progress and with NSDs, especially in the run-up to Christmas. I also need to start selling things on eBay, so your bracelet is big inspiration! :-) Thanks so much for sharing!

Morning
Hi Strether - well done on being almost debt free … then the fun begins
hi SSG - first thing I did when I came back on diaryland was find yours and HHDs threads - glad all is going well in retirement. Pup is still cute and spoilt
So I had such a great weekend and it was a bit spendy but apart from a £6 penny’s scarf I can honestly say there was no frittering. I still feel happy from my weekend and memories will last forever and it was the most simple free thing that made it. Ok so Friday night was a night out with a small group of friends and the meal was amazing and the craic was great. I got home at 2am and was up again at 7 to meet a friend for breakfast ( I was so tired but it was fun). I then popped into another friends for tea later before she goes away for 6 months. Y’day I went for a run in the local forest with my pup and arrived just as they were feeding the deers (the forestry staff bring them up closer to the forest edge for the 2 weeks before Xmas). Nephew popped in and we watched, screamed and yelled at F1 and that was how the memories were made. It wasn’t money that was spent but the time I spent with people. So remind me of that when I fall into a frittering hole.
busy week ahead - today booster, tmw nurse appt, wed physio and on top of that it’s probably one of the most busiest weeks in work I’ll have this year. Sister and family are popping home for the weekend so Friday will be a day of cleaning and tidying. I think I should be able to claim 4 NSDs this week. Good luck everyone2 -
Your night out sounded fun Munchin. Oh to be young enough to go to bed at 2am and get up at 7am!😂
Good luck with the four NSDs!Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Oh dear .. spent some money today … nothing extravagant but destroyed my chance of catching an NSD today. So went for booster then to shop/post office and I bought papers, padded envelopes for posting Xmas parcels, buns for my aunt and chocs for me ☺️.
ok tmw will be an NSD …1 -

I totally agree Winter Warrior, it might even count as 1 of my 5 a day 😂.
so yesterday was sooo busy but then the effects of the covid booster hit me and I signed off work a bit early and lay in front of the fire. Feel much better today.
money front - I’m up to £15 in surveys and I got a refund of £21 from Boden (ordered a top pre-lightbulb moment and I returned it post lightbulb moment). I’m out for Xmas lunch tomorrow, so I think that will be approximately £30 and another lunch out next week but I think that will be most of the Xmas spending done. I think I have all the presents bought but always good to have an extra box of chocolates on hand. I spent some money already this morning so goodbye NSD - a new cookbook (well second hand) and my MOT appointment (expires feb but no appts until end of March). I’ve been pescatarian for 2 years (never was much of a red meat eater) but I can cook meat recipes but my veg recipes aren’t that inspiring. So my plan for 2022 is to get better at veg recipes (have I justified the book yet
).
I also have to buy my visa today for my holiday.. I’m plodding on with the hope I’m still getting away in January.
have a lovely day1 -

Thanks SSG - book has arrived and I’ve all ready marked a few recipes.
So yesterday one of those I met for lunch paid for it - totally unexpected but so lovely. Worked late last night to tidy up and that is me on my Xmas leave 🎉.
today, I did a long run and then looked after my baby niece. Once her mum picked her up then the cleaning began in earnest because sis & family are home for a few days tomorrow. Plans tomorrow include more cleaning and posting Xmas cards and parcels. Today was an NSD but not tmw because of postage.1 -
