Shouldn't make any difference as to whether it is Crucial's or another manufacturers memory. The crucial difference is whether the RAM is High Density or Low Density.

If your RAM is faulty, you will be offered a replacement.
Are there any details written on the RAM?0 -
Opps too late, I have already ordered with crucial, thanks.
Sorry Donnie, I do not know if my Sony has 3 slots, crucial indicates only two. And to be honest, until I started reading the techie forum I didn't know anything about slots

You did what?!
If I chose the 1gb options I would need to take out existing mb to free a slot. So what will I lose on PC by doing this? Nothing
I have a Sony Viao PCV-RX301
I have looked to see if I would be capable of changing these myself and, I found that to get to the slots I have to wade pass/through some wide pliable ribbon type components, is this normal? Yes
I was only able to take one side of the tower, is this right? Yes0 -
I wanted to upgrade the RAM on my desktop and used Crucial with no problems - good delivery and works fine. But, tried same for my laptop and their scanner wouldn't do it. However, you can talk online to one of their advisors during business hours.0
