Sorry I haven't posted for a few days. Been very busy trying to make a Sprout Day present for my best friend and another for my aunt. One completed, the other half done so need to get it finished. If not might have to give some posh shower gels that I bought as a birthday present in Sept and didn't give.
Today was my last work day till 4th Jan. Work got us all fried breakfast rolls which were so tasty. Should have finished 4.45 but as we'd completed the order we left at noon. Hurray! This meant i could call at the farm shop for certain things and then take mum to get her food shopping this afternoon rather than tonight. What a godsend.
Think mum is a bit distracted at the moment as I found a bottle of flash floor cleaner in the fridge door next to the milk!
My niece rang to say they may have been exposed to Covid so might not make Sprout Day dinner. My sister and brother in law may also be unable to come. Should have test results by Friday. Mum's very disappointed and so are they. See what happens. May have to replan for New Year meal instead.
Sadly no NSD today and rather overspent on food, gift vouchers and panic buying 'spare' gifts. Feel a bit fed up now as that means I've spent my bonus before I even got it. Mind you the food should last at least 2-3 weeks with only the odd extra fresh bit from the shop.
Found a hedgehog trundling in the flower bed last night with frost predicted. Luckily he was solid and well over the minimum weight so put him some catfood and covered him with leaves/branches. He didn't eat the cat meat and he'd gone this morning, hopefully back to a proper warm nest. Bought some hay to make a bed if he returns. Used to have lots of hogs in the garden but he's the first one we've seen in over a year.
Trying to have an earlier night tonight as only getting 5 hrs and feeling the consequences. Sleep tight all. X

Hugs @Kerry_Woman & @mothernerd.
First day of the holidays - yippee! Hubby left for his dialysis, so I set to in the kitchen, swept & cleaned the floor (& the porch floor), washed up, cleaned worktops, put flattened cardboard in the garage & recycling in the bins, then hoovered the living room. Rewarded myself with 15mins online game, downloaded it ages ago & haven't had chance to play it. Two customers collected their repaired items, had visits with presents from both neighbours. Washed up after tea, then did some knitting : watched TV. Pottered a bit in the bedroom & read a sewing magazine I'd received for my birthday.
Grateful for a tidy kitchen, time to relax, reaching the armpit on the jumper I'm knittingUse it up, wear it out

- I’m finally feeling Christmas cheer - mainly excitement for DS. I remember how real it all felt to me as a young child - that moment when when you wake up to a stuffed stocking and you know ’SANTA’S BEEN!’, and you’re desperate to get to the tree to see what’s underneath. I used to run into Mum’s room (early doors) and jump and shout until she got up. I really hope DS does the same.
I’ll be finishing work around lunchtime today and am going to do more digital decluttering and some work planning for the new year.Saneberries are delivering our weekly groceries later this morning - it’s got all we need for Mum coming for dinner tomorrow night (she’s working Christmas and Boxing Day), and breakfast stuff for Dad and other family coming to ours on Christmas morning.Grateful for having a clear head this morning, for feeling motivated, and for tea in bed.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸8 - I’m finally feeling Christmas cheer - mainly excitement for DS. NSD 14 today. Have been a couple of Christmas events this month, but cancelled one last Sunday, so saved money on that day. Not sure if the do on 2nd January will go ahead, awaiting to hear.
Grateful for:
Hearing the birds singing on way to bus stop this morning.
Roads being quite clear when going to and from work on the bus route.

That is it, last foodbank session before Xmas. Busy Busy Busy. Everyone left happy though, so job done.DS4 had his birthday today, got gifts he is loving, tonight he learnt how to play Heart and Soul with his biggest bro on his new keyboard. Online tutorials are great! They were so lovely together. 7 years between them, so they can still 'play' together.Tomorrow morning I am giving blood, and hoping to get into 'the spirit of things' now I have a whole week off, but the house will be the victim of a quick cleaning attack first.Still have car insurances to arrange though.

Visited a friend this morning for a couple of hours. I started teaching her to knit 2 years ago, but due to my breaktimes at work changing, we've not been able to finish the mini stocking she started. We finished it today, she's so chuffed!
Took DS2 for a covid swab before his endoscopy tomorrow, then left him at mum's while we did a quick dash round the supermarkets & delivered the last couple of cards & presents. Didn't need much shopping, pleased I make my own crackers, as they're apparently non existent in the shops here!
Put the shopping away after tea, then wrapped some sweets for the boys stockings.
Grateful for time with friends, the cashier in T0sco admiring my fingernails (painted them red at lunchtime), feeling organised!Use it up, wear it out
