edinburgher said:Our attic is so cluttered that it has stuff from the people who lived here before us. Not good stuff (like rubies and sapphires), more broken kitchen units and crap Christmas decorations. I am dreading the clearout before our loft conversion. Maybe the builders will be able to fit the staircase first, making it easier than doing 50 ladder trips?BellaLasagna2018 said:I’m back at work and I’m finding it exhausting (I am a teacher and the mix of teaching in freezing cold classrooms with door and windows open, and the various stresses of COVID and mocks exams at the moment is really tiring me out, plus trying to lose weight and possibly not eating enough during the day) so usually my brain is too scrambled for me to post anything sensible! We are hopefully moving soon. I am a minimalist at heart, and live in a small space so I don’t usually tolerate a lot of clutter around me. I like everything being closed doors, mostly tidy but often not, but I’m quite amazed at how much I still had to get rid of!
Well done on the declutter.

I feel virtuous. I went to my balance class tonight. I had a nice surprise as at the end of the session someone gave me a very pretty new journal. Very thoughtful. I'm due back there tomorrow...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Yesterday was certainly one of my better days this year.
Today had a rocky start as I'd overlooked that I had a meeting first thing this morning and joined it half way through. Just had to ride it out... Luckily someone else had also joined the meeting very late so I got less backlash than I might have otherwise. Because of some medication I'm on - I'm rarely given early meetings - but a new person booked it in so I am going to have to discuss it with her. TBF she wouldn't know - and obviously it was still my fault that I missed it.
I spent £20 on food yesterday to get what I fancied rather than eating what was in - so may just be out of debt neutral for a few days. Timing issue though - as I've frozen some of the other stuff. I should be able to pull it back post payday. I need to freeze some cooked beef too - as I just don't fancy it at the moment.
DD is home a night early this week... She's asked me to go out at some point over the weekend so she still gets the house to herself for a bit. She's so cheeky!! Luckily for her - I can relate to that need. I might go and try the glass workshop I found.
Tired today - but I slept better yesterday for the exercise and meditation. I did a load of washing yesterday and today. I've put some away already. Baby steps.

@Cheery_Daff - my entreaties to empty some of our 6 year+ boxes prior to the baby arriving have been falling on deaf ears with Mrs E
