Sorry to hear you are still poorly.
if you are well enough to go and view the house then I think you should go. Unless and until you view it your imagination will be driving your thinking rather than reality.
if it's a renovation project then that's a change of lifestyle but usually adds significant value.
I love a do-er upper so I don't bring a balanced view.
take care of yourself.

At the very least the viewing is something to do. Also most of the things on the list are aesthetic so could be done over time if you do decide it's home3

Does sound as though the house is not for you - at least you know now before you invest further time and mental energy in something that's not right though.

I would avoid the house tbh if I was you, it sounds like a lot of stress and money. Other houses will come up and perhaps one more suitable for you and at the right time. xMortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

Thanks Blackcats, WD, EH and MeandO
Quite a divergence on views. I think the big question is what is my house worth - but also do I just feel it's not worth it when I go and view the other house. If I got top whack for this house - which feels unlikely but is possible - it would be more affordable than if I couldn't. Although the garden doesn't give an actual size - you could grow a lot of fruit and veg on it. I'm not worried about a future house drop as that would affect either house and as Blackcats said if I did the work on it - then that would increase its value over time I think regardless of a dropping market.
An EA just rang me about a different house so booked a free valuation for after the cleaner's been next week. That house is unsuitable as it suggested there was a paddock but actually that belongs to next door.
I'm still ill which is unusual for me. My fever keeps coming and going. I had to nip and take DD to the station first thing today but then went back to bed until 11. Despite running a fever last night I made some veg soup and a veggie pasta which I've supplemented with some ham at lunch time and an ice cream! Luckily I had some pre-chopped veg which made it easier. Now drinking fizzy grape juice I originally bought for xmas. Struggling to drink enough currently. May heat some packet chicken noodle soup later that always helps with both the salt craving and drinking when I'm ill.
I've rung my GP to sort out a medication review. Apparently my other medicines are sat at Mr A. DD got all distinctions at college which is good news. She is going to see her nan tonight and then my nephew will bring her home. Trying to convince them to pick up my meds on the way but not sounding hopeful currently. I'm going to have my counselling appointment virtually - and just hope my voice doesn't give out.
Hope you are all having a better week than me.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I hope you feel better soon.
I think it's worth going to see the house, but everything you've posted about the lack of light and not being able to see out into the garden would put me off."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
